Bryce Fitzgerald is not slow

The physicality is a real knock.

If he improves his physicality to an adequate level, he will be one of the top players in this class. If he doesn’t, it will be hard to keep him on the field.
Compared to CJ Jr., who is the better natural football player? CJ was blazing but just seemed less fluid and natural as a player.

You know it's not all about speed. Does he have wiggle? Vision?

Remember we said the same about Chris Johnson.
Yeah I know that and what my eyes showed me is you give him a chance and go from there…

But more importantly, my point was more about NOT force feeding him at db since he’s not viewed as a willing tackler at present but if he can help in the return game go for it…

Gotta press him to play CB for this 1 year. Likely won't see the field either way because he's enrolling later than everyone else. Let him return kicks and punts. Put him on ST coverage units - kick-off coverage is a great way to evaluate physicality and if he is willing or not. Could be a gunner on punt coverage.

If its not there and he's not showing a willingness for it, he needs to immediately flip to WR and get started there in the spring 2026.

If he would've ran a 10.68 from the jump there never would have been a question about his speed.

When he ran an 11.5 it was, "100m times don't matter", but now that he's a sub 11, it's he's not slow.

So either the times don't matter or they do?

IF they do, then stop trying to explain away slow times & call a spade, a spade.

Fast athletes run fast times. as evidenced by him running a 10.6.

What is he playing here? I’ve always said ball skills & production translate so thought FS would be ideal but the softness scares me. He could probably cut it at CB, but throwing him into the mix getting here after Ewald and Antoine with 3 other CB’s who have 3 years to play on the roster that are already pretty good is just a portal shortcut, so WR?

People ignored the 4.4 laser he put up at the same time. That was my issue.

I’m a big believer in 100M times and post them regularly. But between the laser forty at Under Armour and the tape, there shouldn’t have been so many speed questions.

When he signed Mario said he was a man cb. Wouldn’t be bad for him to start off there. Get in the weight room and work on your craft

I think they will try him at CB and see how it looks. If that doesn’t work out, then WR. He should be a a good returner right away.

The 10.6 is a bit of a stretch, but I think it is safe to say he isn't slow at this point.

He needs to tackle. That simple.

Fitzgerald and it's not even close. Even in his HUDL you can see he avoids contact. But he's crazy fluid with the ball in his hands. And as a defender, he was an interception machine. Kid is the goods. These new coaches need to teach the Karate Kid to play like a Cobra Kai.
