I think that is 100% the point. You literally just made his argument. If you can't ask a freshman to do that, then maybe he is not the guy to be starting at that point.
How is that Kaaya's fault? Williams was a **** and got hurt and just incase you guys missed it Heaps was a dumpster fire. No choice that has nothing to do with the players. Just my opinion I hate Golden I would have redshirted Kaaya and killed this season by starting Heaps. We were not going to do **** this year anyway.
Kayaa was a dumpster fire in the first couple games. I didn't say it was Kayaa's fault, it is what it is. Whether or not it's Kayaa's fault does not change the fact that the players wanted Williams and Heaps to start. Do you see where this is going? You're defending Kayaa and saying his current weaknesses are not his fault, but then damning the players for saying Kayaa was not ready to be the starter.
What? I am not damning anyone. Divas want what they want. Kaaya is polished you may not believe it cause you wanted Kaaya to step in and be Peyton Manning at 18-19 with horrible play calling and somehow convinced yourself that would happen but the truth is Kaaya was far from a dumpster fire and look at those games notice some things.
Dropped balls, cutting routes short, etc. It is what it is don't matter who was back there this team sucks.
You say you're not damning anyone, but immediately throw the rest of the team under the bus as divas and the team sucks right after you said that.
That's straight out of the Al Golden playbook!!!!!!!!
I was not expecting anything from Kayaa. Believe me, he has far exceeded my expectations this year. I felt like he was just going to be another freshman who would struggle, so don't know how you think I thought he was going to be the next Peyton Manning. If you doubt that, please find my post that says otherwise (hint: you won't find it).
I'm just backing vern on his statement. If the players said the other guys were more prepared to be the guy at the time, then I'm taking the players word for it. Regardless of the rest. This might be a different story if Kayaa were in his Junior year and they are telling me Williams or Heaps is the guy, based on their experience, but it's not. You had a true freshman who didn't step up in the clutch which may be what the players were concerned with.
I love what Kayaa brings to the table and think he has a bright future. He played very well this season, but again, if the players thought one of those guys deserved it, then maybe that's the case.
