BLACK ON BLACK!!!!!

just my opinion but I think its stupid when teams just start wearing black to try and be cool and its not in their color scheme. for example the Arizona cardinals or philly eagles.

But it does look cool, drums up hype and merchandise sells.

but these are nice tho

While they may be "nice", they look like something Oregon State should be wearing. Those aren't our colors.
Says Miami right on the jersey. Definitely not Oregon State. Then again, I can read.

Nike gave us our own freaking font, for jeebus' sake. It's not like we're going to be mistaken for another team.

Now you're just being an idiot. Yes, I can read as well. But the point has nothing to do with that. I'm talking about the look of the uniform. "Nice" is irrelevant. The colors have as much to do with our school as would yellow with orange trim, blue with orange trim, brown with orange trim, etc. Black or smoke make no more sense than any other non-UM color.

I can tell who the uptight, old farts are based on uniform discussions and dk72 is an uptight, old fart.

The Hugo Delapengha edition or **** juice jerseys

I'm guessing these are the orange on orange unis. Didn't know they called them (orange) juice.

yea i remember the ath. dept. calling them "juice" when we wore the orange on orange unis for the UiF game

For some reason the players like the all orange unis, and voted to wear them multiple times. Now that, I don't have a problem with. The players should get some say, so even though I don't like the look, it's up to the players. It is within UM's actual school colors, and that's what matters.

I think you're missing his point
How so? All of our school colors are represented there. Orange/green/white. It's just on a black base color uniform. It says Miami on the jersey, and Canes on the shorts...all in our "Dade Bold" font that Nike made for us.

If the concern is the school colors, then dude has zero room to complain about the uniform in that picture, because they're all there. They may not be the "dominant" colors, but they are there. If nothing else, having a neutral color like black/white/gray is great with our colors, because they pop pretty nicely off of the uniform.

I'll be on Hurracanes and others' page when we trot out a uniform without orange/green/white somewhere on the uniform. If it's all black or all gray or all white, and no orange/green is present...then I'd be just as upset as that group of folks are. Otherwise, it's just complaining to complain.

Oh, so now it's about "neutral" colors. Well, beige/khaki is considered neutral. So I guess that brings us back to my past comment about us having a nice khaki uniform.

White is fine, as it is one of our colors. Black is not.

No, but your post was more childish than anything my elementary school son would say.

I don't like wild uniform design changes, but if that's what the players and program want, that's fine. My problem is with inventing a whole new color scheme that has absolutely nothing to do with our school colors. Black and smoke are no more UM colors than is blue or purple.

White smoke that is in no way represented by the dark gray they are calling "smoke" on our unis. FSU has a spear on fire to start the game, shall they make their unis bright orange to match the flame?

Listen guys we get it, some of you don't like the idea of black or gray unis. But clearly its going to happen, so don't buy them. Just make sure you get urself a nice orange or white jersey to support the team and the one you like best.

The only thing I ever want to have in common with alabama is winning and playing gr8 defense. **** everything else they stand for, same with OSU, UF, the list goes on and on.

I will continue to say this, Miami is one of the most unique programs in all of college football. We've always been transcendent in so many aspects. We don't really operate by the rules, we have rules made for us lol

Its been such a rough stretch for everyone for quite some time. Anything to get some hype and buzz around this program can't hurt. I'm not going to sit here and tell people to support something they don't like or agree with, just support what you do like. Pretty simple.

Mr. Crayola.....would you help us understand how we should differentiate the Stormtrooper all white uniform from a White Smoke uniform so we can market different uniforms for our fan base to create some hype for new uniforms and increased sales?

If we can return to dominating games on the field, I don't care if we wear the other teams home uniform just to embarrass them further.

They'll never wear a khaki/beige uniform, because it wouldn't look good on the field/court. That's the difference between your obsession w/this khaki nonsense you pulled out of your ****, and the team actually wearing neutrals that will look good with our colors and logos on the field/court.

I can agree that black is not one of our main colors--that's a fact. However, if they make a cool uniform that's a Black base color and it has our main Orange/Green/White in it...then guess what? It's probably going to be worn on the field, not matter how hotly you protest it like we're breaking some major traditions. As long as we're wearing Orange/Green/White, we're not breaking traditions...we're trying different things, and catering to the players' tastes.

You'd likely have a stroke if they decided to do a special breast cancer awareness uniform (see the Kayne Farquharson thread), and intermingled pink into the uniforms somehow. But...if the kids wanted to do it, and the proceeds of sales went to a good cause...we would do it. You can take your tradition and go beat off to it in the corner. The rest of us will (hopefully) enjoy what comes out.

The spear is already one of the unique parts of their helmet, uniform and marketing. Deciding to light themselves on fire, while I would support it, is entirely their decision.

I'll leave the beating off in the corner to you, as that appears to be your specialty. However, YOU say the khaki/beige wouldn't look good. Many say the same about black. Being the bandwagon trend ***** that you seem to be, I'm sure if other teams started wearing khaki uniforms you'd be all about it.

Are we really having this discussion? I say we come out in clear uniforms and shock the world. Moving on. :p
