noon games..Black on Black
Black on black (or at least smoke on smoke) is gonna happen. All of the traditionalists need to get used to it. It's not what you want, it's what the players (and yes, Nike) want.Black for the sake of black is the worst jersey clique in sports.
It would be a terrible mistake to go away from our actual colors, you know, orange, green and white.

True, but it just seems like a stupid trend. What's the point of having team colors if your uniform is whatever color happens to be fashionable this year? There is no black, no smoke, in our team colors. What's next, a nice khaki uniform?
My point is, no matter what you think about the trend or the fashion of it all...it's what Nike and the players want to wear.Black on black (or at least smoke on smoke) is gonna happen. Black on Black is referring to black socks with black cleats

What players exactly? Because the schools that seem to dominate the top of the recruiting charts year in and year out don't seem to be wearing black uniforms for the sake of wearing black.
Not all of them, and it's not just black-on-black either. Take the top 10 teams on Rivals for the 14 class:Black on black (or at least smoke on smoke) is gonna happen. All of the traditionalists need to get used to it. It's not what you want, it's what the players (and yes, Nike) want.

One has nothing to do with the other. Do you really think Bama's players would turn down new uniforms?

1) Bama - very traditional, but has worn a Pro Combat with houndstooth on the numbers and helmet.
2) LSU - has worn 2-3 different Pro Combats thru the years.
3) OSU - has worn throwbacks and Pro Combats both...and the Pro Combats had quite a bit of black/gray in them.
4) F$U - Has an all-black uni it wears from time to time.
5) Tenn. - Just wore an all-anthracite uni this past year.
6) Texas A&M - Has black alternate pieces, not sure if they've ever done full on black-on-black.
7) UGA - Same as LSU...and has integrated multi-colored red/black facemasks on one of their Pro Combats.
8) UF - Same as OSU, less the black/gray.
9) Auburn - pretty traditional, but has done some funky things with gloves and cleats via Under Armor.
10) USC - hasn't really been touched at all. Don't think they've even had a Pro Combat uni. One of the few.
So...there you go. All of those top teams, and some of them with major traditions in their own rights, have tinkered with the uniforms from time to time. Some even have *gasp* black-on-black and/or gray-on-gray.
TL;DR: You're old.

Those glitter 's on the smoke helmets are *** as ****

1. Alabama's Pro Combat had literally the tiniest amount of houndstooth buried in their traditional uniforms
2. LSU's Pro Combats were blue and yellow/gold
3. Ohio State Pro Combat featured Gray (You know, the color they wear) and their throwbacks were uniforms their program had you know, actually worn (hence the term "throwback"
4. Florida State wore black on black ONCE. In 2006.
5. Tennessee is a garbage program with an even worse uniform sponsor, irrelevant.
6. Texas A&M is another Adidas gimmick program
7. UGA has black in their color scheme
8. UF has NEVER strayed from their Blue/Orange/White look, even with their pro combats
9. Auburn has always stuck with their blue/orange color scheme outside of one year I believe they had a green jersey
10. USC - Classic
So...there you go. All of those top teams, some of them with major traditions have almost NEVER tinkered with their color schemes. The only ones who have used black are the schools that actually have black in their logos (Crazy right?).
