When are we going to stop caring if someone leaks a name that is visiting? If they don’t show up or it changes anything… they weren’t coming here to begin with.

Outing Hanks name on a visit list puts and end to the drama. If he’s expected at Miami and UF, and goes to UF, he’s going to stick with UF and it’s over. If he visits UM, Id lean UM but a lot easier to play that one off being 10 min from home, had a game last night, etc.

100%. The secret visit that gets leaked and loses us a recruit is akin to a recruit saying have to see Miami prove it on the field.

I never understood the Anthony Hill or whoever it was last year that had similar leaked visit drama. Takes like the “omg we didn’t get him because so and so leaked a visit” are ridiculous to me.

If the difference between a top priority recruit committing to us vs another school is whether some amateur reporter tweets about a surprise visit, then that kid was never coming.
 
Hanks has been here many times in fact more than at Florida, everybody knows how interested he is in coming here so if none of that is a secret why TF would this visit be a secret now? Y'all worry too much and then if he doesn't sign want this to be the reason but it makes no sense

Idk if you know this but the entire objective of the fanbase is to find others to blame so that Mario is absolved of all ridicule. Nvm who we miss on.

Never cause we got to find scapegoats when our paradigms crumble. The outcome is already set in people’s minds. We just fill in the blanks on what actually happened after.

Not saying this is what happened here. But if the staff believes it's worth continuing to recruit someone who is asking to keep that recruiting on the down low, then all they are doing is honoring that recruit's wishes. Perhaps they know more than we do about where in the decision making process the recruit is. Seems like simple logic to me. I know some on here struggle with that.

This. I'm glad someone said it because I've maintained this for year. I've often heard about how leaked visits (especially for OOS kids) was the lone reason a kid did not come (the LB that went to Texas - Hill - was an example). News flash - if a visit is leaked and the kid decides to sign elsewhere, it wasn't the leaked visit that was the reason .

If he is on a list than it likely was never meant to be a secret visit. Stranger things can happen but I doubt Miami is putting his name on a list that is distributed outside of the team that they do not want made public.

My guess in that case they would't include him on a distributed list of names who are visiting this weekend.

what gets me is if it’s such a secret also why are people in the know (corches or direct sources presumably) telling other people, especially “media”? Loose lips sink ships.

It's not a big secret also because the coaches can't control player's family/friends and who they tell. Some kids can keep their lips sealed, others can't.
