Don't know the kid. But all signs suggest he really wants to be a Cane. If he wasn't a Gator legacy, he already would be committed to us, IMHO.

I really hope we land him, because while I am no expert, just a fan, I have seen a lot of HUDL and pre-HUDL era highlights on CBs. And he's as good as they come. Surtain and Patrick Johnson/Peterson level. He would start here Day 1.

Just an FYI for people who may not understand these things: not a single one of us was told to keep it quiet. We have been asked to do that in the past for other recruitments. Dylan Stewart was one of those well over a year ago for a spring unofficial.

It’s free game. Hanks is on the list that was sent out, and it’s not some big conspiracy.

For the record, as I tweeted this afternoon, there have been plenty of times when recruits not on the list show up, names we discover from reaching out beforehand aren’t even on the list provided as well, and names that are on the list that don’t come through. Some of you act like these things are set in stone, but they clearly aren’t and never have been.

Directly from his camp and they were saying it since the summer. It wasn’t some big secret either and I wasn’t the only one writing about it nor talking about it.

I mentioned in the write up prior to that on October 11, that things were very hot and cold there since he committed to FSU and also pointed out his relationships with both UF and LSU… whatever conveniently fits your narrative.

There’s no secret to it… the kid said himself that there was a chance he was going to visit again right after the FSU game, and I have the audio. Same list is circulated to the select few people for every home game as well.

Anytime they have ever asked to hold off on something… I actually have just on the principle of courtesy.
