Y'all are hilarious, comparing a kid being ****ed by a secret visit being revealed to the bs of "having to win" or "game atmosphere."
There are two main reasons why a secret visit, that the recruit doesn't want to be public, being revealed is a big deal.
One, and most importantly, trust. Trust for anyone is one of the most important things in the world. Not just for the recruit, but also the parents that are entrusting their kid to a staff for 3-5 years. If a kid wants it secret because they are being pressured or committed by another staff and then it gets leak, it proves the staff yapped and they can't be trusted.
Two, you dont want the other programs to know, especially if they are committed elsewhere. Then it is likely that staff can shut it down before it happens. This can happen through couple ways, one paying them not to visit. Or two threatening them of losing scholarship or NIL decrease. If a kid is committed somewhere, they like that place and probably have an NIL agreement. They don't want to put that at risk when they are just "checking out" a program and have no real knowledge. You can say they were never gonna committ but the impact of visiting a place, seeing everything for yourself rather than the negative recruiting, is extremely impactful. A visit can take a recruit from intrigued to a possible committ. But if you are in the intrigued category and your school is threatening you, for a lot of kids, it's not worth the risk.
