Beau Sandland

He didn't jump walford or cleveland because of blocking. I think he is more athletic and a better reciever than both.

He played in a spread offense in juco and wasn't blocking much and was used more as a pass catcher. The staff still could have got him more involved.

If he improves his blocking i think he can start next year.

This
His role will be as much TE, spread wide and HB as anyone we've had here
So the transition from simple pass catching TE was more daunting than most
Coley will use him in many different sets with the intention of gaining mismatches
Look for walford and sandland on the field a lot, especially in the red zone

I remember a play, maybe vs UF, where we had Cleveland lined up at TE and our 2 outside WR were Walford and Sandland. UF didnt make adjustments so those 2 were out there on islands in the red zone with 2 less than 6 foot db's. The throw was the Walford and if it was a good throw it would have been a touchdown, but it was weak and batted down.

**** like that, I like to see. Get creative with the offense. I just hate it when its poorly executed and we just look ridiculous instead.

IMO Beau is better than Clive/warlord he just needs the touches.. dude played with a mean streak the lil time he was on the field...

Where does the blame lie with this season's lack of production from the TE position?.

2012 production 31 receptions 511 yards 4 TD out of the TEs
2013 production 43 receptions 504 yards 4 TD out of the TEs

Looks about the same as the previous year to me.

Sandland should be the starter next year and would be a fool to leave.

And TE production was weak in both seasons. Two coordinators. What's the constant?

why would he leave when the next years QB will live and Die with TE's routes. Morris had a touch problems that's why those intermediate routes didn't work that well for him. But Williams will look to the TE more often then not, which will keep the chains moving.

Go Canes!

Sometimes there's no accounting for what a young person will do - that said - I doubt he leaves, but he is perhaps passively expressing his disappointment in the underuse of TE's...can't say I disagree with that.

This guy gets it. Sandland is a weapon in the passing game and is tough to bring down...but he was beaten out by Clive and Asante because he can't block (yet).

I think Sandland is a more athletic TE than Walford. I just don't think he was given many opportunities to demonstrate this ability.

Lulz at Juggles being better than Sandland.

Juggles looks like a train wreck about to happen. Just at the mere thought of a pass coming his way.

Yet the story goes, he couldn't get past 2 clowns. He must not be good.

Most fluid, natural TE on our roster! Will be a monster next year, and it was sad that we didn't use him more. EVERY snap that Cleveland got should have gone to Beau.

As soon as Walford got the dropsies we should have gone to Sandland...and I actually am a Walford fan. But the whole thing is supposed to be "make the most of your opportunity"...well, you give a guy an opportunity when a starter is struggling and see what he can do.
