2024 Aydin Breland 4* DT from Mater Dei

I am from DC so I definitely know that, but previously NY, Boston and San Fran were all higher than us and I think Seattle at times too. But I might be mixing that up with Cost of Living which would be related, but possibly slightly different order.
NY, SF(Santa Clara and Marin included) and Seattle were higher but didn’t think that was the case with Boston. Either way it’s top tier for sure and I’m sure you hate property hunting over there.

Yeah, I am not crying that we are poor (I think we do pretty well) but the combination of the cost of living in DC with the high (relative to recent times) interest rates and low inventory in housing (at least due in part due to people wanting to hang on to their low interest rates) and it is tougher than normal.

I hear FSU recruits and current young players on team are concerned about how they are so portal heavy. Year 4 under Norvell, you would think you’d see his kids playing and be developing.
Bud Elliot dismissed this concern as “Miami negative recruiting FSU about freshman not playing”

Hey Bud, the call is coming from inside the house.

Where are you from in DC? I am a DC resident as well (originally from Baltimore)

$400k a year is a large income anywhere on earth. I am blown away at the insane levels of ignorance on this board sometimes. Unreal.
And what 19-20 year old would want to be in Oregon or Georgia with $400k in their pockets over Miami???? They’re not moving here for the rest of their lives. It’s to crush it for a handful of years and develop for the next step

As stated, the facts say so as much. To Norvell’s
credit he has worked the portal well and their roster shows it but the HS recruiting has been outright subpar thus far and they need to rely on transfers. This is the first good class he has put together and they haven’t even signed yet. Even Napier has out-recruited him.

Now he is walking a tightrope where to get out of this mess he has to lane this perfectly. Because of those previous weak classes he will need to hit the portal hard yet again, and quickly try to integrate the 24 class into the 2 deep to kill this narrative. If some of these guys need an extra year and can’t show promise right away, it will hurt them. It’s why HS recruiting is still the best place to build a roster.

Bud is asking around to try to get a job as an agent. True story.
dude is so weird. I sent a buddy of mine some insane "hot take" he had back when he was just a noles writer (so a few years ago) and my buddy was shocked, not because of how awful the take was but because he recognized Bud as the dude that tried to interview for a job at my buddies law firm. Said it was one of the WORST interviews he ever sat through. Dude was just delusional. From salary demands, to hour expectancy, to attire. Needless to say he was not all surprised that a licensed attorney was settling on being a beat write for FSU

This is the same theory with recruiting battles between USC and Oregon. What kid wants to go to college in Eugene, OR over Los Angeles. It’s Athens, GA and or any other college town in the SEC vs Miami. The only difference is USC dominates recruiting SoCal athletes over schools like Oregon, Washington etc… We have to deal with FSU and SEC schools on a yearly basis. Also have Big10 schools coming in trying to snatch kids as well.

Different kids like different things. I agree with you but know others have different preferences in life.
