As to what may come as a shock to many, AJ Highsmith retires

Trash a kid that never did anything wrong here but put his head down and do what he was told?

If you don't show him respect, at least respect his ******* father.

I'll say this. I knew him very well growing up, played with him in basketball and flag football for a few years, had some really close common friends.

He's a good kid, and gave it his all. He didn't put himself in the game. If Al gave in to any outside pressure to play him, then its on Al. And if he just didn't think we had anybody else to play there, thats on him too, and theres probably some sad truth to it.

We will be better at Safety for the forseeable future.

How this kid was even recruited at all is a big question mark. "Daddy ball" shouldn't be happening at the collegiate level. Was a D1-aa/d2 type player at best.athleticism or lack there reflected that as well. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

You can't get it when it is good for you, and not when it doesn't end up working in your favor. Yes, ideally every player who previously was a hurricane has a son who is great and becomes a hurricane himself to follow in his fathers footsteps. Unfortunately that isn't how this works. You can't be ****ed we go him, but are going to be happy that is the reason we get Kevin Olsen, Ray Lewis 3, and hopefully Michael Irvin's son. Plus Highsmith is probably still better than many safeties playing at various other schools. Don't tell me just about every one of our players wasn't better than Duke's last year. Even our worse players are better than most other D1 schools, so our talent level is no excuse. I kinda got off topic, but honestly it's annoying that so many people say we had so little talent, because we still had more talent than the majority of ACC schools.

D2 type player? You deserve a smack. AJ had offers from Boston College, TCU and Oklahoma State as well as the U. Tell me what type of D2 player has those offers? All AJ did was love Miami, stop being such a salty fan.

So what. I don't care who is daddy is. The kid was garbage on the field. And that's the only reason he was here. Because who his daddy is.

Since when does it matter for Miami football to have kids that don't get in trouble and go to class and try real, real hard and say the right things? I guess Miami wants to become Wake Forest or Duke. Keep starting kids like this and we are well on our way.

Right now, it would be a step up to be Duke, BUT to your point, it sounds like you have issues with your daddy. Are you unhappy with the opportunity in life he provided you? Do you not know your daddy? Has he failed you in some way to make you resent the fact a young man got a leg up because of HIS daddy's greatness? Did your daddy not let you play football because you embarrassed him too much? Get help.
