As if you needed more news today...

His other offer is from the Dallas Cowboys to be running backs coach. This move is about power and career advancement, which is the draw to Miami. Career has stagnated at FSU.

+ rep, you have been on this one for a long time.

See if you can get an opinion on Coley as an OC/coach

Hollywood has some good connects up there; would like to hear from him. I just called my buddy who will absolutely know. I'll post as soon as his lazy *** calls me back. As I've told you guys for months, Jimbo is toxic.

Think it's time to actually take a closer look at what has gone on up in Tallahassee. Just want a sense of if there are a bunch of terrible position coaches, or does there underachieving fall right at the doorstep of Jimbo

Wow, which move do you make if you're him. Think I'd come here. But that's just the Giants/Canes fan in me talking

I thought jerseycane was spot on when he said no way Jimbo lets Coley leave - not to us anyway. My thought is that we've sort of unzipped our fly by offering him, which would suggest to me - knowing Golden does not do anything without a plan - that if DMoney's source is getting correct info - then Coley has already strongly intimated that he would accept our offer. No way we offer without feeling like he'd take the offer. Would we? I agree with those who say Mario is driving this train.

Then of course there is the whole question of whether this guy is THE guy that can take us where we want to go.

My guy says he is leaning toward accepting. Remember this is from Coley's side (possible agenda) so TIFWIW.

THIS is what is giving me pause. Lots of motivation here for Coley's side to be leaking info. This could just as easily be a classic ploy for an extension/raise, and then to embarass us. This guys is an FSU alum. I would be more comfortable with this if it was coming from UM sources.

Dammit mane.

But yeah you're right.
Yep. I don't see homeboy bouncing unless he is tired of being under Jimbos thumb. You never know.

A million internetz await your word, sir.

For real though your posts have almost been too awesome to be true. Not saying you are BSing but you've been killing FSU for a long time now.

He knows that within a year or two he will follow Fisch's footsteps by going this path. I dont see that happening as a RB coach in Dallas especially with Garrett on the hot seat.

Someone said it earlier, might have been Pete, but it really seems as though he is leaving FSU, regardless of whether he comes here or not.

Don't know how to feel about the Cowboys offer, being that I have little to no respect for their entire organization and their judgment of coaching talent.

For those wondering, I'm told FSU already matched the money. The issue is power and I cannot see that changing.

OC at top college program>RB Pro coach

Much more likely an RB coach has to go another step somewhere (college/pro) before advancing to NFL coordinator gig. Whereas, OC Coordinator at top college program can pull a Jedd.

Absolutely agree wushah. Clearly, if what we're hearing is true then Coley has had an opportunity to discuss this with his wife and family. Probably just a matter of his attorney looking over what was sent over to make sure everything is in order.

Hopefully, Golden gave him a clear and short deadline by which to make a decision. 24 hours is reasonable given what's at stake.

My thoughts too. If you go to a big program and show that you can lead a great offense (especially since it will be a pro-style), you'll reach an NFL OC spot faster than working your way up from RB coach. JMO though.

Major D1 coordinator gig ALWAYS better than NFL position corch, especially for a young corch looking to advance his career.
