As if you needed more news today...

Is it necessary to bash the other site. Just take the info for what it is worth and keep it moving. SMH. I also think that Jimbo offering the play calling duties this late in the game seems a bit desperate and may backfire because even if Coley accepts, there will be beef and animosity there and who wants to work in that type of toxic environment. Someone also mentioned the mettling aspect of it which is definitely a real possibility. Either way this shakes out, FSU will be on less stable footing for the next year. I surely hope it gets done so we can focus back on the final recruits.

OK... I'll Go on the Record....

I don't believe that COLEY actually comes here. Just a gut feeling. I don't like how this is all playing out.

As soon as Dumbo heard about the rumor of Coley leaving - he should've said what will it take for you to stay.

Supposedly FSU match Miami's "money" ok... but why didn't he immediately say play calling too. Coley should've been skeptical and said if I really want to be my own guy - I'm out. but he hasn't yet... ..

I know , i know big decision. But You already had the wheels spinning to leave when you interviewed with Miami and Kentucky.

So why wait? Why keep going back to Dumbo? If you want out - then go.. don't look back.

He hasn't at this point.

LOL its only 3 days its been out there but If he's not named by the end of today. He ain't coming.

This is what I like to see when I log on to ESPN - Miami is blasted on the front page. In good light. We back Gents.

I asked my guy about this possibility last night. He said Coley is concerned about how much power he'd really have and what kind of working environment it would be. What would happen if they disagree?

So he just doesn't trust Jimbo.

It's gonna look really bad if he still leaves now.

Well played Golden, well played.

That's what I'm wondering. Jimbo may be saying right now he'll give up play calling, but will that hold true after Coley agrees to stay? I really just can't see Jimbo being able to keep his hands off the play calling.

Btw, for those saying that Coley sucked his one year as OC at FIU, you have to remember that they were short something like 30 scholarships due to probation and iirc, the prior staff weren't very good recruiters. Tough to judge someone off of one year under those circumstances.

If you cant correctly spell the name of the Head Coach of the rival university you certainly hurt your credibility. They deserve to be bashed a little.

Per Miamiherald

Thursday update: FSU believes Coley is leaving; NCAA/UM fallout

Thursday morning update: FSU believes offensive coordinator James Coley is leaving for UM.* But there's nothing official yet.

FSU agreed to match - but not surpass - UM's $500,000 offer. But FSU would not allow him to call plays; Fisher enjoys doing that himself. At UM, Coley will run the offense and call plays. He has called plays only one season in his life - for a talent-deficient FIU team that finished 1-11.

Coley, a Miami High graduate, also*likes the idea of returning home to Miami, where he has family.

Coley's move also could help UM in recruit.

If I were Coley I'd be hesitant to stay under Jimbo too. I think that working environment would be mighty uncomfortable.
