I think the NCAA charged Miami with just enough to justify the punishment Miami has already self-imposed. We've imposed a lot, 2 bowl bans, 3 postseason games, multiple practices, limits on in-home and official visits, and 5 scholarships is a lot of sanctions. On what planet is that not harsh? UCF got less for LOIC, so at this point I'm not worried.

Good point. I think now Donna just wants to get a an expedited decision from the committee so that there isn't a public record of findings.

I'm begging for this. I want the Justice Dept to open a criminal investigation of the bankruptcy abuses....and I want it publicly opened. We're playing for keeps. I want a program of political harassment and threats of criminal action. This is the big boy league. You **** with a political mafioso...you end up ******* dead.

With her going nuclear on the NCAA... making some serious allegations against the NCAA tells us there is some serious steak on the fire.

She is the President of an University. Presidents don't make such severe statements unless she and Glazier are set on an all out war! Emmert will be gone at the end of this. Only one side will be standing and Donna has decided that she will take Emmert and his ilk out.

The NCAA answers to its member institutions. With the bad blood flowing regarding a bunch of other recent cases and now this MAJOR ****up, the member institutions are ****ed, and Shalala's leading the revolt. Don't forget, they're getting sued by the state of PA, they ****ed up the Shabazz Muhammed case, people are still ****ed about the lack of punishment for the Cam Newton case and the UNC case. Members are not happy.

Yes, they answer to the court system. Once it reaches the point where the process within the NCAA has come to a conclusion, Miami would then get courts involved if it disagreed with the outcome.

Normally courts would not involve themselves in a private resolution process but this isn't just your average, run of the mill NCAA infractions case.The NCAA has made egregious errors that in my opinion, are blatantly unfair and would not pass muster in a court of law.

The government has been involved .SImilar issues brought up before the house in 2004 .NCAA promised changes-they lied. Look for more hearings on the subject .

I am confident that a person like Shalala wouldn't come out hard like that unless she had the goods though. I'm sure she just wants it over with but only if it's to her satisfaction.



Having a long and drawn out court battle is not good for either side. If we won, sure, it would be awesome but we'd have to endure another recruiting cycle of this crap. I realize Golden is still pulling killer recruits, even after signing day, but I want to see what he can do with a good season and no NCAA **** over his head. That's when I believe top local kids who want to go away to college will be more likely to stay home.
