Anyone Got Some Class Predictions?

Just so we're all on the same page, when you have sanctions and scholarships losses, you must be more efficient with each scholarship NOT less.
What are you getting at?

Keeping kids on the team who have done nothing,

You know all things that contribute to the size of this class.

Cough Buchannon Cough...really don't think we need this kid back next year
Ben Jones....might be good to have him back for depth?

seems way too optimistic.

Probably, but who are the reaches in the top 16?

All of those guys are either committed, leaning our way, or legitimately 50/50.
Well id say Bostwick, Collins, Green, Williams, Thomas, and Kirkland. I wouldnt say they were a reach, but seriously doubt we land them all. im hopefull but id like to be realistic about all this

The one one I am unsure about is the Collins/Green pick. There is a higher chance that we get neither of them until we get Green on campus. Even so, I would call that more hopeful has than unrealistic. Bostwick, Williams, Thomas and Kirkland all fall in the realistic category for me.

I think we keep the 10 already committed......

I got the Final 6 being:

1. Derrick Green

2. Tim Williams

3. Matthew Thomas

4. Denver Kirkland

5. Jaynard Bostwick

6. Jermaine Grace

No thanks to either.

Y'all are still expecting Collins, despite the decommitment? I thought people were saying he is fsu-bound? And is Thomas leaning our way now, or is that hopeful thinking?

Thx

That class would be a home run. What caught my attention is that Golden said 15-16 yesterday. Wonder if he didn't include the JUCOs.

Yeah, I caught that too, D$. I think he's planning on Cookie and Ben Jones receiving medical RS's for a 6th year of eligibility (e.g. Robert Marve, who's not having a bad year over at Purdue, btw). I also think he's planning on retaining more current players than we fans expect.

PLEASE NO!

Why not? Ben Jones would be a great keep and Cookie can bring good depth.

I'd take Ben Jones back in a heartbeat, we need a backup OT. Otherwise Gadbois, Wells, Briscoe are our primary OT backups, although I suspect Feliciano would slide over if Flowers or Bunche got hurt (assuming Henderson goes pro).

Buchanon brings nothing extra to the table that we don't already have.

I find it absolutely absurd that y'all are so quick to throw Cookie away like crumbs.

The kid was bringing it, really coming on, before his 2011 knee injury. I was excited to watch him play this season. Thought he was positioned to have a breakout senior season.

I'll take him back, and please!

is Ben Jones a realistic possibility for a 6th yr? he played a large portion of this year and I dont believe he was injured prior to this. I think he was just buried on the depth chart and never had a chance to play. Would be nice for OL depth if we can keep him for another year. Buchanan on the other hand I would like to see move on so we can get some fresh blood in. Next year's LB corps looks really strong with Perryman, EJ, Kirby, Paul, Gaines, Terry, Blue , Armbrister, Cornelius (not so much) and hopefully Thomas and Grace.

No. Jones and Cookie are both done...best of luck to them...

Green will pair with Duke to make a well balanced rotation. Sanland will give us that 3rd down mismatch at tight end that we've lacked. Jean-Louis is a big play guy in a big play offense.

Pairing Hooks with Porter & Pierre will instantly upgrade our dtackle situation. I expect Thomas to play at slb and rush end. Burns and Carter should play right away at safety.

Pretty sure Golden would be crowned if he got Green, Sandland, and Hooks. Would be a ridiculous finish (to go along with Thomas, Grace, Boswick, Kirkland)

Good lord I rather not get my hopes up

I have no interest in bringing up the well travelled topic of wether Ray Lewis III belongs in this class, but I am still not convinced that we will have to use a scholarship on him. There was a point guard for UNC a few years ago whose parents paid for his last year of school to make room for another recruit. I would be surprised if daddy Ray doesn't give to UM. As thorough as Golden is, I am sure he has considered asking big Ray to pay his son's way as part of his annual giving and bringing RLIII in as a walk-on. I have no information to support this, but it just makes too much sense.
