Anyone catch Feldman this morning?

i been tellin y'all boys.....

5 years probation
4 yr bowl ban
35 schollies over 5 years

That's what I'm saying, recruits have been notified, players have been whispering, Miami is going to be out of the 20-yr deal at Landshark when the poo hits the fan. Time to rally behind Mario and your playstation

Oh yeah....almost forgot:

We Gonna skate97a.webp

Guys we are Miami. You know the football traditionalists have wanted to get us forever. They have an opportunity here, and they are gonna blast us. I'm expecting 35 scholarships over 3 years.

What does probation even mean? UCF was on probation when they got hit with their current NCAA findings. And in their case the AD was breaking the rules, and they only got a one bowl ban, which they are currently appealing.

Probation means almost nothing - it could include monitoring or not, but it essentially means "don't get in trouble again," much like it does in the criminal justice system. Probation should not affect a program at all. Typically, probation lasts longer than the sanctions that can actually affect performance (recruiting limits, limited scholarships, postseason bans, etc.).

An angle to consider- Miami has some of the highest rated games in the history of ESPN college football. Love or hate Miami gets people to watch. ESPN would not be to happy if one of their most reliable draws was crippled into a doormat by NCAA sanctions. Of the recent schools in trouble OSU big draw for ESPN, slap on the wrist, UNC ACC partnership, slap on the wrist, USC west coast time zone, major east coast markets are asleep by game time, no one is watching.

I don't know. PENN STATE seems to be on ESPN every week. They beat them up, piled on, kick them again and then broadcast all their games.

It is better for these reporters to over penalize in their reports then under. It gives them an "out" if the NCAA comes back with something light. They can act surprised an write the "feel good" story everyone want to read.

This. Also it makes for good press (extra clicks) when the NCAA doesn't come down as hard on a hated school as people want/expect them to. The public outcry if/when we get sanctions that fall below expectations will be huge.

Honestly I don't believe the NCAA believes we are cooperating with them, or why else would they take so long to reach a decision. My Thoughts are a 2 year bowl ban (credit for 1 already served). I think we lose 10 scholarships a year for 3 years. It wouldn't shock me if we got less or a lot worse either.

Some of NCAA peeps who were in charge of Miami investigation have quit or moved on to better things and this is one of the reasons it's taking so long.
Just to be clear, it's one of the reasons not the only one..

When you guys hear something on the radio it would be nice if you could provide a link, it doesn't take that much effort..
It only took me a few secs to find a link to the interview: Bruce Feldman

2 year bowl ban 31 scholarships for 3 years same as USC...Reggie Bush got more then all the UM players combined...so did OJ Mayo

This makes sense to us, problem is the NCAA seems to be trying to go past the statute of limitations to show the LOIC has been an ongoing issue.

No way we lose ten a year. No way.

Penn State was a hundred times more awful . . . . AND it went up to the top! Goobersmootching and fudgepackin' children isn't the same as a few boat rides and some meals. OK, OK, some bowling shoe rentals as well.

At some point, there HAS to be some sense of proportion. It's ON RECORD! Randy warned everyone to stay away from this buttlick - and a couple assistant coaches went rogue. Punish THEM. Not the school for those violations. Many of the so-called recruits that were supposedly given benefits DIDN'T even come to Miami.

Knowing THAT - Go to the schools they actually ended up at - and see what benefits they were offered to go to the other schools instead.

Great. The guy in the blue jacket three years ago threw a Molotov at me. So now we're going to shoot the folks who are standing on that spot three years later and didn't have anything to do with it.

This just burn my ***! Kind of like a 20" tall flame.

I will keep saying what I been saying for a year now.**** THE BOWLS,THE BCS AND SCHOLARSHIP REDUCTIONS.Al Golden's Miami teams will find a way to win and if you get 10 or wins year in year out,it's still 10 or 11 wins, even without the ******* over commercialized bowl system. We'll play with less guys and skip your lousy bowls and still kick the **** out of everyone in the ACC in years to come.Everyone just enjoy watching Hurrcanes football, don't sweat the other crap.

The doom and gloomers are out again. First of all the suspension periods last year were based on very litlle money changing hands that was proved. The further one goes back in time the less likely anything is provable. Alot of the money the U paid back was money not payed to players but to the U as donations. The Dequan Jones thing was a lie. Sean Allen himself said he wasnt a bag man and never paid a recruit to come to the U.
Feldman's title says the U is unraveling and has a big scandal but gives no real proof of either. I think 5 scholarships a year and 2 years bowl ban. Anything more would be overly harsh.Remember with the huge class taken this year it will help to absorb the scholarship losses better over the next 2 years. There is a possibility if overly harsh penalties occur the U could seek an injuction to stop the NCAA and settle this by arbitration.

this is a great perspective and something I've been sort of grasping for.

the punishment is pretty much meaningless (up to a certain point where playing with 70 guys is a disadvantage). the omen of doom and gloom is far more detrimental.

once the sanctions come down, even if its closer to 10 a year (which is an absolute *** raping), the impact won't be that bad with a good coach like AG in place. he can manage the roster and get 15 kids each year that are top notch...basically cut his evaluation miss rate down by only going for the creme of the crop

nobody, I mean nobody knows ****, especially Feldman, he is purely speculating

If we get what USC got or worse after 100% cooperation on this investigation, self imposing a bowl ban, suspensions etc... then what incentive would ANY school going forward have to do the same? the NCAA wants its members (thats right we're all members of the NCAA, not owned or enslaved by but members) to be cooperative and proactive. It has been reported many times in interviews with NCAA senior officials that Miami has been very cooperative and has had one of the more proactive compliance programs. If we get *** raped then no school in their right mind will ever cooperate again because they know they'll get ****ed anyway so may as well fight, deny, stonewall, sue etc..
