Anthony McFarland, Jr.

I can understand him wanting to stay home, but Maryland is still Maryland and they're never going to win anything. Hope he thinks about that part

Maryland has been terrible. That's why Haskins jumped ship last year. Had he stayed, i would be more concerned about McFarland.....but since i don't seeing them improving yet with Durkin, i don't see them being strong enough to pull Mcfarland away from schools like Miami, Bama or OSU.

Speaking of Lemons in track recorded an official 100m--10.94 and 200m 22.03...the national elite for 100 in HS is -10.80 and -200m 22.00 and these times were done in the spring of 2015.

What are you talking about, those times are not elite. Here are elite times for high school track. Notice Whitefield and Bracy are cousins from Orlando that went to FSU.

10.8 is considered elite for track in HS, it's a standard that set by a national organization. Maybe sit out the track talk....I still remember you telling the board Walter tucker was the best hurdler in the nation lol.

What a terrible post.

1. Adarius Lemons ran a 10.94 with an insane illegal wind of 4.6
2. The fastest legal wind time Lemons has run is 11.08, and even that was with a wind of 1.3
3. Again, Lemons ran a 22.03 200m with an illegal wind 3.5
4. By contrast, Lemons ran a 23.26 (lol) when running against a wind of -1.6
5. In Spring 2016, he ran a 24.36 (lol) 200m

Lemons might be a good RB, but he's not a fast track runner, not even close

Walter Tucker: boys track Athlete of the Year
American Heritage senior Walter Tucker
June 3, 2013|By Dave Brousseau, Staff writer

American Heritage senior

Season highlights: Had the fastest time in the county in the 110 hurdles at 13.83, recorded at the Florida Relays. He was the District 14-2A champion and Region 4-2A champion in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. For the second year in a row, Tucker won the Class 2A state championship in the 110 hurdles, shortly after his father bought him a new pair of track shoes the morning of the race. Only nine other times in all classifications has a male hurdler won the 110 hurdles state title in back-to-back years since 1990. He also finished second in the 300 hurdles. His best 300 hurdle time was 38.02.

Comment: After winning the 110 and 300 hurdles at the Sam Burley Hall of Fame Invitational in early March, he was named flrunners.com Athlete of the Week. Following that meet, he had the fastest time in the country in the 110 hurdles. Has committed to Clemson, where he will play football and compete in track. "He has that versatility and great work ethic that makes him a tremendous athlete," American Heritage coach Corey Hicks said. "He is an awesome athlete all around. He leads by example and has a bright future ahead of him."

I give hats off for my athletic success to: "... my family because all of this success wouldn't have come to me if I didn't have my family to back me up."

You were saying!

Oh and Walter Tucker ran a 10.49 sec 100m time, link below.

BigCaneAl if 10.8 second in the 100meter is elite then for 2016 there were 70 elite high school runners in the state of Florida that ran 10.8 or faster. Don't get me wrong 10.8 sec 100m times are fast. But elite times are 10.5 or lower.

2013 top time in country was Tony Brown at 13.38, almost a half second faster. In 2012 it was Seth Joiner at 13.29, and Artie Burns was second at 13.35. So, yeah article is wrong, probably a typo in second paragraph because first one says county not country. Couldn't find a 10.49 100M anywhere btw....that would make him faster than anyone at UM right now and top 10 in e ACC.

It's a standard set by some national organizations, so yes they would all be considered elite as long as it was official and not wind aided. A lot of sports have similar rating systems.

Lol at giving up on an elite prospect because of Maryland. We should rarely if ever lose a recruiting battle with them regardless of DMV or not. Ohio State went in and took young, we should go in and take McFarland.

We will see what makes him better than Felix or Lemon ?

Lol Felix isn't in the same stratosphere as McFarland. Lemons is a totally different player.

And I really like Felix as a player. But McFarland is a legit RB. Felix is an athlete. Athletes don't always translate to being legit RBs.

Not say Mac is a bad player but he doesn't wow me. Not like Duke, Sony, Collins... Just not overly impressed with him. I honestly thought Felix film looked better. Plus I believe Felix tested better too. Still kind of up in the air but I think I'd prefer Felix.

WHAT???? Have seen his tape of him torching teams???

Like I said I don't think he's a bad player but he just doesn't wow me. I watch him play in a full game that was on tv recently and if not for knowing who he was and who he played for I would've never noticed him.

was it the game that they played central? because i don't think he played that game

McFarland is not coming. No sources just my gut feeling. That comment about not wanting to go to a school where his family has to get on a plane was the obvious tell. My question is then why have a top 3 of Miami, Alabama and Maryland? Sure you keep recruiting the kid but that didn't sound too good. DJ Durkin was smart to hammer away at the whole family angle. It would really suck to lose this kid but the flipside is that there are bound to be dozens of kids that emerge during their senior year and would love to play for the U.

Lol, ******* Maryland is gonna be able to keep the stud running back home and Fat Al couldn't keep collins, cook, sony, scarlett or cronkite.

Keep this in mind:

As well as we are doing in recruiting, Richt and company are only working with hype. He's 0-0 at Miami and as a school we are coming off of a decade-long free fall.

Just wait till we start winning. What do you thinks gonna happen if we reach 10 wins or better? Kids we've been after are gonna start changing their minds and national recruits are gonna be in the DM's trying to get our coaches' attention.

No it was against LaSalle. He had 1 nice run and caught a pass as a receiver for a TD the whole game. I believe he had a fumble on a screen play too. DeMatha has some really nice prospects though I just was under the impression he was their star and Harrison seemed to carry the load for them.

Chase Young on the other hand... Certified stud

There is a reason Oregon is going so hard after felix, its because he is a one cut homerun hitter who can change a game in an instant. Give me felix any day of the week over Mcfarland..
