He's 73/81 on his predictions.. I like those odds. Then, the MD insider has really good results as well that CB'd him to the U. I know the kid likes Bama, but no way they pull Harris and McFarland in 1 class. I think it's between us and Maryland and the relationship with Brown and a good season in 2016 lands him with Miami.

I think this is going to be a tough pull if for no other reason than the fact that maryland's campus is 10-15 minutes from where this kid goes to high school.

That's the case for a ton of players in Maryland that leave for PSU, Michigan, FSU, OSU, Cager came to Miami, Alabama etc etc. They recruit worse in their back yard than we did under Golden

true they have always lost a lot of guys to those schools but now with the big 10 they have something different to sell. it is a perceived (though i don't necessarily agree) step up from the ACC. Cager was also from baltimore which is a little further away. by the way i am not saying its not possible but its usually pretty hard to pull people from the immediate neighborhood of another major conference school.

Bruh its maryland. Maryland football isnt a powerhouse and isnt known for great recruiting. Dj durkin is doing a great job of recruiting some big time guys to maryland right now but most are on defense. When richt and brown were at uga many felt he was going to uga. So clearly he has no problem leaving home.

But that's largely because there is at least some kind of college football base in a lot of areas. It's difficult to pull recruits away from the south, or the midwest, etc., because those areas care about college football. But it's never been difficult to pull recruits away from the mid-Atlantic/Northeast areas, because nobody here cares about college football. This is a pro sports area.
Maryland (and Virginia) are also unique in that you have such a huge influx of non-Marylanders and Virginia-ites living in those states. So many people that are just here for a federal job. This makes it easier to pull kids away from these states because there is no hometown pressure to stay. It's not like other states were entire schools, towns, counties, or geographic areas live and die based on whether you stay local, and let you know this, so the pressure can get too much. Here, nobody cares. Maryland is just a job to them.
That is why traditionally it has always been easier for teams from far away to come in and cherry pick the best from MD and VA.

Would love to see him commit soon to see what type of momentum that generates. He'd arguably be the most nationally known/respected commit in this class.
