I rarely expect highly rated oos of kids to come , don't think that's " wimpy" but more being realistic. The odds say they rarely do commit . If they do come great , but if they don't I'm not disappointed.

Richt probably changes that but that's just how I've always viewed recruiting. And history usually prices my theory.

Aqm couldn't get into ND, Kayaa wasnt highly rated when he committed, he blew up towards the end of the year. That's when the big offers started rolling in, luckily we were the first school to pounce on him. One thing the previous staff did right. Dobard was highly rated too, but the point is they're far and few between.

The percentages are super low. So I don't set myself up for the disappointment. Keeps my jimmies from being rustled.

Njoku is another OOS the previous staff got right. I hate giving them credit but its true

I know very few will agree - but I just don't see it. McFarland looks short and compact, a little stiff, and good but not great speed. He looks like a straight line guy. He looks like a very good receiver out of the backfield. All of that reminds me of Walton.

In regards to McFarland's speed - ESPN has him as a 4.6 guy. And for his highlights, look at Lorenzo Harrison.

Harrison played in the same backfield as McFarland at DeMatha, and had a better year last year. Harrison is 5' 8", 185 - and was the #55 RB in last years class (signed with Maryland). Harrison is consistently breaking tackles and long runs in his highlights too.

I just think if McFarland was the real deal, he would've had a much better year than Harrison, who's an average prospect.

I agree on the speed part. Would love to see him in this class because he is good. Just not the game changer ppl say. At least from his film.

You lost me at "short and compact." How is that not a great thing for a RB? I strongly prefer RBs in the 5-7 to 5-11 range with a stout build. Tall, thin guys work out well at WR or QB or DB, but generally not RB.

Give me a Frank Gore at 5'9 220, Barry Sanders at 5'8 200, Emmit Smith at 5'9 210. That build makes you much tougher to tackle.

Going to have to disagree with you there. Watch Harrison's and then McFarland's tape back to back. The lateral quickness, vision, and how fast he hits the hole are major differences I see between the two. Plus Harrison was doing a lot of east and west running which I absolutely hate he can get away with it in high school but not college, McFarland rarely got caught from behind. I don't know to me McFarland is clearly the superior RB. But, hey these are highlights i would have to see him in person.
