Andrew chatfield offered by UF

Friends like playing and bonding together...it's prolly part of the reason they have package deals. When Kool worked him out (at that time)maybe he didn't think player C was better than player B on his board? Just cuz a kid doesn't do well at camps doesn't necessarily mean he's garbage. His film was good enough in pads for OSU to offer they're just in on some bigger fish now. He is a 4* recruit it's not like the kid is a scrub!

How good do you think he would be on a shatty team? His stats would likely be cut in half and he still would be a Tweener. There is no way around this... He is still a good kid, don't get me wrong, it's just he just don't compare to a four star Joe Jackson or even a three star Garvin.

TIFWIW but CMR just liked this..

Never compared him to anyone...on film he's in the backfield first on many plays....hes no scrub IMO which means with hard work he could possibly pan out...who knows? It would be different if Miami had a bigtime DE prospect already committed. Also, If he is a project ...
it's not like this staff hasn't picked up one before. Like another poster said....nothing to lose here....it could help spark the pipeline!

If we aren't going to land Parsons and Joyner is going to be a Battle, why not offer Chatfield?

I agree , Kool is suppose to be a top Dl coach who hasn't actually landed 0 Blue chip DTs. They destroy Rumph and give Kool a pass for missing on every big time DT. The one we have imo is looking we can lock the top DT on our board and a blue chip DB . Take over AH pipeline

You understand we don't run a 3-4 defense anymore? The 4-3 scheme give you more flexibility when it comes to recruiting DT. In the 3-4 you need heavy space eater at DT while in the 4-3 you need quicker agile ones which means you can recruit DE and convert them into DT (Similar to McIntosh, Bethel etc.) because a 4-3 DT need to be around 285 as appose to the 3-4 where you need guys at like 300+. Plus Kool has a proven track record and Rumphs does not as he is new to the college coaches game. Also we might have the best DT in Florida committed to us and we seem to be the favorites for Dennis.

Nesta is not a giving and Brigg is up in the air . Unless DJ gets moved to DT whoever made that dumb @ss decision. For 1 DT should be questioned . U guys can crown Kool not me .We need more blue chips kids on the DL. It could change or we couid have slient DTs but as of now it's not good

Maybe oladelle looking so bad at the camp made them switch their focus to Chatfield

If it guarantees us Tyson and Nesta and we have 1 extra ship laying around, you take this kid.

We will have it , heck Richt isn't done cleaning house

We're down 10 scollies, I think the house is clean enough for now. Not saying we should take the kid, but there should be room.

My point and we lose some next year too. If this kid only contributed on special teams better than some of gems we have left . I say we lose 5 to 7 more by this time next year

Agree, I just think we've got enough room in the class without having to get rid of anyone right now. After the season will be a different story.

also we need to establish a American Heritage pipeline . chatman, silvera, campbell, herbert would do the trick

More so than just Silvera, Campbell, & Herbert???

Seriously, explain it to me-- why is Chatfield the linchpin to all things Heritage according to this board?

I just don't understand the obsession with offering this kid. One of the best DL coaches in the country doesn't want him. He worked him out personally. Still no offer. Just move the **** on.

Apparently Coach Brock disagrees with this

Yes, I've read.

I've even seen it suggested that we put 60 to 70 lbs on him and move him inside. It's insanity.
