I think it goes further than that. Sanctions are going to hit, and it will be important for Miami to prove that they are still national players despite sanctions. They need that momentum to help sway kids in the future when they have limited schollies. Winning next year will help.
Whatever you may think, we'll all find out first-hand next season. I've learned not to get my hopes up. I wouldn't if I were you!
IMO its significantly sanctions driven. With scholarships at a premium, you need to have more kids ready to play relative to learning their trade. Better to take a kid who can contribute for two years and free up a schollie when he's done, then a kid who will sit for two years before contributing.
Thats on top of the fact that our DL talent just isnt what it needs to be.
Miami is a national player RIGHT NOW with LOOMING sanctions and a ****TY PREVIOUS TEN YEARS.
Our fanbase is pathetic.

like i said, i think we are competing for an acc title and a bcs bowl. i think if he makes the right choices and his juco plays pan out, it's reasonable.

Completely reasonable. I honestly don't see anyone in the Coastal putting up a big fight next year. A few impact dline will really change the defense.
