Semper Fi update
5-star RB Alex Collins has phenomenal acceleration and plays fast.

One of the players that has looked most impressive for the East squad out here this afternoon is Alquadin Muhammad -- down to Rutgers, Miami, Notre Dame and Alabama. He will announce his choice Saturday at the game, although he told me yesterday he already knows who it will be.

Muhammad tidbit
This unit is a strong one for the East squad. From left to right they are a handful. Al-Quadin Muhammad (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco) is a long defensive end recruit that is cat quick off the edge. He was impressive all day, whether it was chasing the quarterback or making plays down the line

“I think Artie Burns is going to be a tremendous safety in college. I love that he makes plays on the ball and competes every snap."
Deion Sanders UA game

Artie Burns, DB, Northwestern (FL), committed to Miami
Burns had a strong day in 1on1's where he registered a couple of intereceptions and displayed lock-down skills at corner. Despite adding some weight, Burns seems to have become more fluid and his game is certainly on the rise. Burns has rotated between CB and S this week and it is still very much up in the air where he ends up playing at Miami.

Kevin Olsen, QB, Wayne Hills (NJ), committed to Miami
Olsen was the most consistent QB on the White team and he can make all the throws. He throws in rhythm and seems particularly effective down the field. Olsen does not lack confidence and is not afraid to fit the ball into tight windows. There are few things he needs to work on including not 'patting the ball', but it is easy to see why he was so coveted as a recruit.
Geoff Vogt - Scout

Geoff Vogt says it's 60/40 FSU over Miami for Matthew Thomas as of today. Also say's Thomas mom was at the practice's today decked out in orange and green Miami gear.

"Stacy Coley will have a Sammy Watkins/Robert Woods impact for someone next season".

Top Performers at UA Practice

2. Artie Burns, CB, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern
Simply put, Burns enjoyed an otherworldly day at corner. Burns not only showed his pure speed, but also demonstrated his ability to redirect routes in press coverage, react and recover and close with physicality to ensure pass break ups. Over the course of two days, Burns has been very impressive athletically and physically with active hands.

6. Kevin Olsen, QB, Wayne (NJ) Wayne Hills
The Miami commitment impressed with his overall command again on day two, along with his compact release and ability as a natural passer. Despite a breeze at times during the workout, the 6-foot-2.5, 190-pounder made sure throws in the intermediate game, and down the field in general. He also showed impressive pocket presence in the team portion of the practice.

Both have been the best prospects at their respective positions.

Not too long ago Burns was thought to be an track athlete playing football but over the last year? He's really developed as a football player. Can't wait to see what he does when he gets on the campus.

Love that Burns is getting rave reviews at corner, but I still think his position is safety

Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

If Finnie is let go, we are down to 5 scholarship CBs, Gunter, Howard, Crawford, Dortch, Hope.

Like Lu said, he probably will start out at corner and they will go from there. They did the same thing with Deon and told him he would start out at safety and then decide, and obviously that worked out.

I just like how much ground he can cover back there and he loves to hit. They can use him a bunch of ways.
