from everything I head (bits and pieces) and majority is from Peter & some from people who are close to the current players. Alex is most likely be a Cane.

I followed the past 24 hours from people I know in Arkansas, twitter feeds from people who were around Alex during his time in Arkansas etc. The kid is having a great time. That does not mean he is considering making Arkansas a favorite, it just means he is having a good time. that is all.

Alex is a very polite and smart kid and he will never insult his host by tweeting anything but good things about the place he is visiting, and the fans love him for that.

Something was said/happened during his visit to Miami that made Alex have the "AHA" moment.


Alex's coach, without even hiding it, wants Alex to go to wherever Bielema goes. Not Arkansas, or Wisconsin etc etc.. just wherever Bielema is .. thats where he wants Alex to go to. This is something that has worked against us from day 1.

I have listened to every interview that Alex gave and almost 90% of the time his Coach is there with him and his coach talks more than Alex does.

The best way to influence someone is to put talking points in their head. Gatewood has installed "running back by committee" in to Alex's speech.

The funny part is Both Wisconsin and Arkansas are currently recruiting/have high profile RB's and Alex, no matter where he goes. is not going to be a featured back. He is going to share the backfield, but his coach has installed Miami, FSU = RB by committee, Bielema = Alex the only RB in the team.

You have to wonder if there is money being thrown around here or a promise for future jobs for Gatewood.

I don't know the exact "aha" moment, but IMO all signs are pointing to it...there is a picture being floated around with Alex, his mom and Duke, Alex de-committed from Miami for

1. NCAA sanctions
2. "running back by committee

number 1 has been put to ease`
number 2, after talking to Duke, the guy part of the "committee" I think Alex realized that this will actually work and his coach wasn't 100% correct about his estimation.

Alex also realized he CAN have a college life only 45 min away from home, instead of having to go up to ARK. The game against Duke, I don't think we realize how big it was for him, the kids entire perception of Miami went from (80's, NC, NFL guys, back in the day, rebuilding, sanctions, duke) to (college, attention, fun, winning, stardom, winning NC)

Coleys hire alos cemented in Alex's head that UM is a better program than FSU. even though he wasn't going to FSU it raised UM's stock for him

Never worried about this kid. As has been pointed out, he is a classy, intelligent kid who isn't playing games like people thought. He's an amazing talent being pulled in many directions and is handling his recruitment with nothing but class.

In the end he will choose his dream school and I've always maintained he just comes off as a perfect Al Golden type kid. Their personalities (though Golden is a chameleon) just mesh and when you add that all up, no matter what other tricks other teams try, it ain't gonna be enough for a kid with a good head on his shoulders.

this kid DOES NOT TROLL! it is very important to know this when you read his comments etc. He is a recruit that if you lose, you wish him best of luck (un-like some recruits, which I won't name)

His coach is pushing him fo Bielman, but enough time has passed and Alex is making up his own mind.

You shouldnt be blasted. The question is who is advising (what are their motives and do they gain from this) and are the decision makers (him and his parents) in agreement...

His ******* coach is who... I'm not a snitch but if I could ever prove his motive for what he's saying to Alex I'd run it straight up the flag pole.

It goes beyond his coach. There is at least one other person who is close to Alex who is telling him to leave South Florida. This is a battle between Alex' mother, brother and girlfriend and Guntwood and at least one other adult.

either way I don't see how that can override his family and girl...hopefully AC looks at the big picture and realizes he would have a new coach and football family away from ****wood.

I will not reveal his identity, but I can tell you that he is a pretty influential person in Plantation.

I believe we all have an idea why Guntwood is pushing Alex in that direction. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that question with either guy. I can tell you that the other guy isn't pushing out of self-interest, and I'm not sure how hard he is actually pushing. He did make it clear to me a couple of months ago that he would like to see Alex attend UW.

Guntwood is clearly Bielema's fluffer. Dude sickens me. Whenever there is an interview with Alex and his coach the dude literally talks over Alex when hes asked what he is looking for. Its quite apparent that hes trying to plant seeds in his head and steer him towards Bielema. He tries to be slick about it and hide his motives by saying he is a "UM supporter" in different interviews, but unfortunately his true motives cant be hidden as they come pouring out of his fat pores.

Also at the same time he was leaning FSU and Gran left, hopefully that showed him he should not make his college choice based on coaches. Now his coach is pushing him to freaking arky because the same coach that left UW now coaches there? smh. If they want to get him out of plantation, there is a great university in coral gables where he can get a great education and the depth chart is favorable also.
