Wow... I just read through this entire thread and all I can say is WOW. Most of you need to loosen your tin foil hats a bit because they're cutting off blood circulation to your brains. His coach forcing him to go to Ark so he can get a job there? FOR REAL? So many people defending his mom for being batsh*t crazy? Yeah of course I wish he had chosen the U but do you really think it's so impossible that he just liked Arkansas better? I mean look at their coach's track record with RBs. Look at how many records Montee Ball broke under him. Maybe Collins thinks he can have that kind of success? And how you can defend his mom for her actions is beyond me. If she wants him to go to Miami then fine but stealing his LOI, refusing to sign and letting your son become the butt of all jokes on NSD? I feel you on his mom embarrassing him in front of the whole nation. However, he should have known mom needed to sign. She might have been more supportive if he sat down and spoke to her about it rather than telling her where he was going on national TV. If I made a life decision like that when I was 17/18 without discussing it with my mom, national embarrassment would be the least of my concerns.

Nonetheless, I feel for him. His big day - one he'll never get back - was ruined. I'm sure he learned something from this. Let's hope, because he's got a lot more learning to do at the school of hard knocks he'll be playing at next year.

Holmes - I'm curious - do you have kids?

As a parent, I have an obligation to make decisions for my kids that I feel is best for them. It's pretty clear from what his brother and his mother have said that AC lied to them about going to UM and then picking Arkansas. As a parent, that immediately throws up a red flag. Something definitely was happening behind her back, and she has that right (and obligation) as a parent to step in to figure out what the **** is going on.

Now, there may be a whole back story here that justifies his handling the situation with his mother that way. Seeing how he has acted, the involvement of his coach and other factors reported first hand, that just seems less likely than a lot of the information posted here.

If you have read the entire thread, then you can see many realize that we probably dodged a bullet here. Rarely have kids who acted in this manner amounted to much down the road. I would not be surprised to see him at FIU in two years or less.

If you followed his recruiting you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the notion that his coach is steering him to Arkansas.
