lol....Dad said him and Alex are close and that he's been involved in AC's life. Yet, when asked by the reoprter if he knew what was going on yesterday alex's dad said "no".

Must not be THAT close if you had no idea what was happening on one of the biggest days in your son's life....

When the reporter first started talking to the dad he asked him if him and alex were close. the fahter replied "We're close." Then the reporter asked him about the reports that maybe Johnnie Collins maybe hadn't been as involved in AC's life ".....as much as you could have been" Alex's dad replied that he had been involved. Later on though, when pressed further, the dad did conceed that he hadn't been involved much.

By "we're close" I think he meant right at that moment when he was standing next to the guy he thought was Alex but who was actually Jim Berry.

It was a random speculation. Like everythign ELSE everyone is doing here. Some of you are dreaming with this whole "poor Alex got sold" to Arkansas, and "IMPLYING" that the kid has no choice now. The PROBLEM here, is that some of you deluded yourselves into thinking there was some grand conspiracy here where this poor kid was being forced to do something against his will. To me, at BEST, it looks like he and his coach cut a deal to go to Arky, his mother didnt approve and she went nuts to stop him. But it is CRYSTAL CLEAR to me, that WHATEVER went down, Collins was VERY much a part of it, and ARkansas is where HE wants to be.

Franchise made an excellent post about the types of players who will succeed here under the current regime; perhaps Collins didn't feel like he fit that mold. I'm not saying he's soft, he did chose to play in the SEC where there are a lot good athletes, but maybe he's just not hardcore enough to be a Cane.
