Alex Collins finally signs with Arkansas

His mom hired the lawyer because she doesn't trust Gatewood or Arkansas. The current players? Even if they did care they'd forget the first time he broke a 20 yd run.

The overwhelming hatred of Alex Collins is starting to go WAAAAYYY too far. The ire of everyone here should be pointed at Gatewood, not Alex.

More Collins' mom's attny: "“They want to make a clean choice that is free of any outside influences" MORE

"This is a very tough decision and they are weighing their options very carefully."

Collins' mom's attny statement ends stating Cochran Firm retained to help in "clearing up any false or inaccurate statements in the press."

No wonder she hired a lawyer so she could clear up some inaccuracies put out there by the media. Now you've got her stopping the LOI because she hasn't gotten paid yet?

You can't enforce an otherwise illegal contract.

YOU and I understand that, but isnt she a Hatian immigrant? I doubt she is very sophisticated in the intricacies of civil law. My point is, woman has taken this thing to the extreme, seems like there is something more going on here beyond just Collins going to school far away.

The mother of South Plantation High running back Alex Collins has hired an attorney with the Cochran firm to represent the family "while she contemplates on signing the NCAA's Letter of Intent" that will decide where her son plays football in college.

The firm, founded by O.J. Simpson lawyer Johnnie L. Cochran, made the announcement Thursday.

Andrea McDonald refused Wednesday to go along with her son's choice of the University of Arkansas, preferring that he attend the University of Miami.

I have a feeling something not so nice is going to be expressed by Collins mom about Gatewood or Arkansas if he ends up there. This could get ugly.

According to a friend who knows her, she is not Haitian.
