I tried this in the chat and got no takers:
Does anyone wanna bet me a beer that Alex collins will never graduate from the University of Arkansas???
Would you want a diploma with that **** school on it?
Uh, what is wrong with a UA diploma? I got a JD there, and it was a good school.
That's funny. Sources earlier said it was going to be 11 that he was signing with Ark. Aren't sources the best?
I think it would be safe to presume that Alex and his mom are at home, talking to nobody, and that any sources commenting on what time he is going to sign are booshy. Mom still putting the full court press on him.
I wouldn't let my kid sign with Arkansas either. My guess is Alex Collins gets his way and ends up there anyways, however. But I would imagine these so-called "sources" are nothing more than educated guesses based on comments from Collins' classmates/teammates who claim to have some contact with him.
Exactly my point. Nobody, other than Alex's mom and maybe him have any idea of what they are going to do.
If you believe one of the Sentinel guys (not Casagrande), Alex and his mom are not particularly close. She's not "part of his life," according to the writer. Which may explain why he doesn't live with her. According to the dude, she's "hijacked" the situation.
If this is true, then F her. Let the kid go where he wants.
Check out this CBS Sports piece....seems to confirm his coach pushing him to AK..also falsly claims he was committed to Wisconsin at some point.
Collins committed to Miami and Wisconsin before promising his services this week to Arkansas. The last two switches obviously were because of Bielema.
The coach couldn't talk about his hoped-for prize directly until Collins signed. But Bielema did reminisce about Collins' high school coach, Doug Gatewood. The two coaches became friends a while ago. Lineman Fabian Dodd was one of Bielema's first big-time recruits at Iowa. That was back in 2001 when Gatewood was at Piper High in Sunrise, Fla.
"Doug and I built a special relationship," Bielema said.
Collins was reportedly "devastated" when Bielema left Wisconsin for Arkansas. Any school would have taken the five-star prospect with 4.45-second 40 speed. But under Bielema, tailbacks thrive. Wisconsin has produced eight consecutive years of 1,000-yard rushers, seven of them under Bielema.

the ARK decision is soooo retarded and short sighted by him. really really dumb move. mind numbingly dumb
basically he wants to go there cus the coach likes to use a "featured" back. AC's fat *** coach kept harping on that in the audio interview with fat manny. AC kept parroting what his fat *** coach was saying, "yeah yeah feature back"

Which is why his mom is protecting him from himself and his coach at this point. That's what ESPN and other media outlets don't understand, and why they believe his signing with Arkansas to be imminent: They view his mom as simply having a panic attack because her baby is going away. They don't understand the situation the way Canes fans who have followed his recruitment closely do: This is a kid who was recruited to a particularly awful school by his high school coach is a grossly unethical manner, a kid who has been convinced that Arkansas is the correct place for him, due in part, to academics (lol). Something is not right, and his mom is trying to make it right. Let's hope she succeeds, but she has the world against her at this point.
For those of you who say, "Do not want"...you're nuts. I'd take him back in a second. And let's not forget, this is not our first rodeo with this kind of bull!@#$....See, Kellen Winslow as Exhibit "A". You didn't mind him did you?
He could be using the coach's address for school assignment purposes, which the FHSAA might be interested in.
What I don't get also is that his brother was interviewed yesterday and said that Alex was coming home and going straight to his room for the past few days. If that's the case, who is he living with.

Mom trying to "protect" him? Doesn't he not even live with her?
