Alex Collins finally signs with Arkansas

Lol @ this dude dissing Jim Brown.

1, Jim Brown ain't dead. 2, he's widely regarded as one of the greatest ATHLETES ever... in the same breath as Jim Thorpe and most people go 1a and 1b with them. 3, Jim Brown was known for flattening people. 4, he was found guilty of vandalizing his wife's car and rather than perform community service, participate in domestic violence counseling and be on probation, he opted for three months in jail.

He chose jail. You're right though, he wouldn't fit in with the tough guys we have down here.

For the record, we had a ton of kids from the football team on our soccer teams because the football coach mandated they play other sports. If Lacrosse was an option at my school I'm sure they would have played it. It's ok to play other sports. There are some badass athletes and real tough guys who don't play football.

Awesome post. But how about cheerleading? Where does that fit in?

The more I see Collins talk and be himself...I can see how he wouldn't have fit in with this team, perhaps. Just a different kind of cat. I mean, I'm sure he would have if he came here, and he's super talented and would've succeeded, but I can see how he felt more comfortable at a spot like Arkansas...he's not your typical SoFla kid from a personality standpoint.

I really actually agree with this. I know it's been said on this board over and over for the past few days, but he really doesn't strike me as a "Miami kid." He's obviously a huge talent and I wish he was here, but I don't think he'd fit in at all with the rest of the South Florida guys on this team.

But then again, how the **** is a slightly effeminate black guy gonna do in ****ing Fayatteville, Arkansas?

There's a reason Duke referred to him as Alexis Collins when he decommitted...

That's funny. While I think his mom is unhappy with the selection, and he might still try to come, I had the impression he was a different type of cat. A typical Miami football player does not play lacrosse. That's a elitist white boy's game if there ever was one. Plus that hair. Now I know a lot of kids have that hair now, like Travis Benjamin, but they don't mix it together with lacrosse. Give me a Miami guy like Duke. Or an outer boroughs kid like Edwards.

Jim Brown disagrees with you.

IF YOU GOTTA GO BACK TO THE 50S OR 60S YOU ARE PRETTY MUCH AGREEING

WHY DO PEOPLE HERE FEEL THE NEED TO POINT OUT THE EXCEPTION TO EVERY RULE

All I'll say is that Jim Brown played lacrosse 50 yrs ago. Society is different today and so are the social dynamics surrounding that particular sport. Couple that sport with Male cheerleading, which isn't a bad gig AC spends 3 hrs a day with his hand on a girls ***, and you get why people think AC is on a whole 'nother wavelength compared to most []_[] skill position prospects.

Ok, which one of you WEZZIES called the Bill King show this morning? Talked about how Collins is going to get beat up in the SEC rushing against those defenses and ended his phone call blaming it on the coach for pushing Collins to Arkansas.

Brown was from Long Island where lacrosse is as big or bigger in high school than football. And, as for blocking, who was he supposed to block for? That SU offense practically never threw the ball.

I really need to get the Sirius app working on my iphone

Yes, you do. There are a bunch of great channels to listen to for music but the Bill King show in the morning is by far one of the best. He really is a non-biased party when it comes to talking about recruiting and college football in general. And he really loves Miami and Al Golden. It's nice to be able to hear someone talk about Miami football and not just bash them the whole time.

And once you get it working, make sure you put the iPhone in a plastic bag. You, my friend, have a face-pooping coming your way as a result of some of your predictions. I'm a man of my word.

I wish somebody would call a show and lay out the entire case against Gatewood. Its one thing to throw out that his coach pushed him, its another to detail the interviews where Gatewood never passed up a chance to downplay Miami. Include the fact that Gatewood encouraged Collins to "look around" after committing early, except looking around meant visiting schools where his buddies were coaching. Is it a surprise that the interest in FSU disappeared once Gran left? Gatewood quit filling his head with FSU and started filling it with Arkansas.

Gatewood said, "Commit to a school, not a coach," after Partridge left Wisconsin and Gran left FSU. Bull****. That's why Collins and Arkansas only started after Partridge went there, but all of the sudden Arkansas is the place to be.

I get a lot of Ricky Williams vibes from this kid. Weird *** dude.
