Who were the Indentured Servants: (English Poor Whites)
A staggering 95% of the total British and continental emigration to America prior to the American Revolutionary War were Indentured Servants.
There were three classes of Indentured servants:
1) Willing Migrants who wanted to start a life in the colonies and agreed to sign contracts
2) Unwilling Migrants who needed to escape religious persecution or were forced to go for other reasons
3) Others were Convicts, Vagabonds, Rogues and Undesirables - these types of Indentured servants chose America, rather than prison
Poor English were offered a trip to North America, along with four to seven years of unpaid work for their masters in exchange for the journey. Some were bought and sold when they arrived in the colonies, much in the same manner as slaves (which hence the resentment and anger toward the slave which still exists today). The system of indentured servitude was the answer to clearing the streets of the many beggars and homeless in England. Upon completion of an Indenture contract, the servant would receive "freedom dues," that included items such as land, money, a gun, clothes or food.
What's interesting to note is that his descendants seems to despise the former descendants of slaves the most today when in fact it was his own brother (British) that relegated him and his kindred to just above a slave status to pay for his own freedom in the new world. The British didn't care if he was liberal or conservative. He said get your *** out there with them slaves and pick that cotton!!! So the anger is misdirected towards the slave and the slave descendants today. The lie of this proud "rich" white history continue to be taught in schools but the truth still remains as the propaganda tries to cover it up. Have you ever wondered where terms and statements directed at blacks stem; uppity ***, *** you think you better than me?, smart ***?
