More Cubans vote republican because they're so psychologically traumatized by Castro that they melodramatically equate any social welfare/ethics that the democrats might support as left-wing dictator nonsense from their socio-cultural-political past. Nevermind that the guy they recently supported and his fascist tendencies are much more in line with Castro, but that's an argument for another day.
Yawn
Majority of Americans are tired of being called racist, sexist, homophobic, islamaphobic, trannyphobic, fascist, ****, etc.
Doesn't work anymore.
As a white boy growing up on NW 189th Street in Carol City in the 1970s, I had friends who were African-American, ******, and Ecuadorian and understoood that America was a melting pot. I loved Miami. It was paradise. As an adult in a Trump America I see how far we have to go. I know the Republican loving Cubans will bash me and that is understandable, but Alabama bothers me the most. I see these tie-wearing, white shirt donning, racist from the worst state in the union cheering on their "boys" and claiming superiority above the rest of America. 99% of the fans wouldn't be caught dead at a party with the players from their Crimson Tide team, yet they cheer them on like they are at a **** fight. Maybe I am being over-dramatic, but it is kinda strange that the most racist state in America relishes the fact that their 'boys' rule the world of college football. I hope the kids from the 305/954/561 can see past this hypocrisy and return the U to the glory of the past.
I'm as independent as they come but what's become clear this election cycle is that Libs can stereotype whoever they want and think nothing of it.
What do you mean they can stereotype whoever they want? Like Bannon?
What does Bannon have to do with it? Isn't a bigot a bigot? Not to libs who try to squash any other opinion other than their own and then spew bullsh!t like the opee's comments. You're as much of a problem as the white supremacists if you justify BS generalizations because someone hurt your snowflake feelings.
The university of Alabama still allows "white only" fraternities. Not traditionally white, or majority white but white-only. As in members of other races are forbidden to join. That is all.
Link ?
I'm sure it's the same rules as all black fraternities. Will eat crow if it isn't.

Enjoy the crow sandwich.
The vote was 21-5 to effectively kill the resolution. Not even a close vote and not a good reflection on their Greek System/student body. That vote doesn't happen at Miami.

Did I read that correctly? There are NO non-white members of greek organizations at alabama? I thought it was a few that were all-white, but ALL of them? That's some racist *** ****.

You speak fact and I wholly agree. Racism, Social and workplace oppression is as much a part of America as the stripes on the flag. No place is more dedicated to maintaining as wide a degree of segregation as permitted by law as Alabama. That's not to say The U doesn't have racist or those that embrace racial superiority, but to suggest this post is not of factual basis, is to say Alabama has better beaches that Florida. As an educated AA in touch with educational, social and political atmosphere in that state, I know outside of representing that university on the sports fields, those people despise AA on a level even white outsiders, know and would admit, is extreme. Many of our AA athletes, parents or advisors, either don't know or don't care that their lust for stardom, championships and the NFL is providing the Caretakers and Supporters of the Confederacy the social jubilation and financial gains they would never allow the very same black men toiling on the fields for them. The fact anyone on here would deny people their expression of their own history and experiences is to **** on them and tell them it's raining.

''It was paradise. As an adult in a Trump America I see how far we have to go.'' You are nothing but a piece of sht racist, sick and tired of low life *******.
You know these PWI set a lot of these very heralded and regarded black athletes with white women. They do it for a reason. Btw I don't give a **** who you ****. You are crazy or naive if you don't think the PWI set these players up with white women as a way to try and control them. IMO when a black athlete leaves their neighborhood, I know they are not all poor, and hit it big . . . they are less likely to return to their community and invest to make it better when attached to a white woman.
So here it is:
Black posters who have lived in an urban setting will agree with me.
White posters that value social justice will agree with me.
The uninformed will think Im nuts.
Those that think the poor are poor because they are too lazy to do anything will think Im nuts.
Im white. I teach in an inner city school because I believe for too many kids in the area I work, their teachers are their best hope to move upwards socially.
I guess David Ortiz didn't get your memo.
I know who David Ortiz is. Im not sure who he dates or is married to. And in case the reference to him is because he has views similar to Charles Barkley, thats great we are free to think the way we want. I actually like Charles Barkley!
Or maybe you are saying Ortiz wouldnt agree with me because he doesn't think PWI set up their very gifted black athletes with a white girl.
Clearly we are dealing in shades of grey, not black and white absolutes. I don't think every gifted black athlete gets set up with a white girl. I do believe that there are "many" that are. I have no issues with it, except when it is the PWI's way of trying to control a kid. **** who doesn't want to be set up with a ****ing hottie?

In reading all the posts, the comments I read are not surprising. People need to check themselves. The originator of the post brought up an interesting dichotomy of sports and society. Many members here chose to criticize and dissect his every word rather than evaluate the valid points of what he was saying. Yes, he made some loose generalities, but I saw through that and searched deeper into what he was saying. You have a right to say what you want. That is the freedom we have as Americans. However, I think many of you have missed his point.
Just because an athlete is cheered and beloved at a game doesn't mean a **** thing. It's how people treat you when you are not wearing that jersey and have no idea who you are as an athlete that matters most. No recruit is going to be able to tell on a campus visit because everyone there is going to sing his praises. As a parent, I would take a trip with my child to a school and visit the local area. Go to a store, restaurant, mall, etc. How are you treated? How is your mother, father, brother, sister treated? Now, do you want to go to school at that university?
I am saddened by America. I grew up in the 70's. This country has gone full circle. It has gotten better and worse. Racism is as prevalent now as it was then. It is passed on from generation to generation as though it is part of our DNA. Some of it is blunt as that LSU video, yet others are somewhat subtle.
I am as diverse as anyone on the planet. I'm AA, but grew up in a state that was 95% white I learned to adapt at an early age. I had and still have many friends that our white. As a child, I was pretty much a star athlete. My Everyone in town knew me, talked to me, and was comfortable being around me. Sometimes a little too comfortable. They would start talking about black people and then the "N" word would come out. They would turn beet red and say, "oh, not you." I would just roll my eyes. I would say to myself, "oh yeah me. Just when I'm not around."
To enlighten you further, my youth basketball coach was 1/4 -1/2 Native American. Every year I played on an all star team that played in a basketball tournament on the Mesquakie Indian reservation. The Mesquakie team was the only Indian team in their host tournament. They could ball and we always met the in championship game. I became friends with some of the guys. One was named Ira Whitebreast. I always remembered his name.
The reason why I'm telling you this is for you to understand a perspective you don't have. So when you see those idiots in Tallahassee doing there "tomahoc chop" and war chants I want you to think of me. Do think I would ever disrespect a Native American in such a way, given how I grew up? **** NO!!!!! People are so F'ing ignorant!!! I feel shame when I watch them. I think of how White America exterminated Native Americans much the same as Hitler did to Jews. Then they somehow think they are honoring the Seminole tribe by doing war chants and chops at the games? Pretty sick when you look at it from my perspective. It's well documented that the State of FL government provides benefits to the Seminole tribe to use their name. This way they can say they have tribes blessing.
I'm sure I'll get lots of hate for writing this and people will say what does this have to do with football, Canes, or me? The answer is everything. You live in the US of America. How we deal with each other determines what kind of country we have. Further divided or more United? The choice is yours.

What exactly is the point you are making with this? What is your position on it? And what about this reading that you provided makes you more intelligent than everyone else?

easy for you to say. I wish you could walk in a black man's shoes just once. Then you'd truly see your own ignorance.
