Al this time last year

This is not a shot at Al by any means and just an observation. This time last year we were all holding our breathe hoping he would stay. This year his name hasn't come up once. Poster above brought up a good point that many jobs he was never in contention for. Just figured USC or Texas would have his name in the mix especially with him winning the Lombardi award.

well....USC filler their position last week, Award was this week, Texas has no opening?
Nice troll job really

The award didn't need to be announced for him to considered for USC since he clearly is very well respected among his peers. There are a lot of schools that held on to their mediocre coaches this year where last year they got rid of them. There haven't been as many jobs open as last year that would make sense for him to leave us. However 2 of the "greatest jobs in college football" opened up (USC)/will open us shortly (Texas) and we haven't heard his name for those.

Both schools he was never in Play...Texas is going to hire ( if position even comes open) a 100mil guy...Al is not that guy...

Al was looked at by schools needing overhauls...Penn St, Tennessee and Wisky ( not as much overhaul)......Texas is not that bad and USC is close Haden just listened to the Fans instead of making a rash decision 4 years ago when Pete left...

So Al is not an Elite Coach...we all know that, but at 44 he is looked at as a good coach, and staring at 10 wins and a Bowl win..something this school has not had in years..

solid post. agreed that there are no Tenn, Wisky, etc's open. Texas is the wild card here depending on who they hire as that could have a domino effect towards Al. Don't think he goes as he is too invested and finally got the handcuffs off

I have realized that all these people who are all butthurt and want Golden fired are the ones who saw we went 7-0 and ignored all rational thought from the beginning of the year and lost sight that this was at best a 10-2 team coming into the season. They saw the 7-0 and top 10 ranking and thought that Miami should have won the NC this year. Should they be disappointed about the VT and Duke games yes, but the constant player and coach bashing is getting out of hand. Anything good that happens is always filled with negatives. This team did not have the quality depth it needs to be a big time program especially at the DL and LB positions.

I predicted 10-2 or 9-3 preseason AND playing in the ACC champ. the way we **** the bed with 2 chances to win the coastal and the abortion of a defense are why I am mad. the 9-3 record means jack ****

we are MAYBE marginally better than we were in 2012. it is very clear to anyone with a triple digit IQ that the AG/Dorito defense will not work. that experiment should be completely over yet nothing has changed.

I will wait until after the bowl game to go completely off the deep end but if there are not wholesale changes on the defense (i.e. fire everyone bring in a proven DC), then I will be completely off the AG bandwagon and it will be clear that his time here will be short lived

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he could've bolted at any point during the NCAA stuff and didn't and now we're in the clear

Lol Alabama fans who have known nothing but excellence the past 5 years think we have a **** good coach and recruiter. Yet Miami fans who hadn't had a good team or decent coach in 10 years ***** and cry and moan because we finished the season exactly where we predicted we would have before the season started. Telling.

What's telling is we lost to Duke with the Coastal on the line when we have twice the amount of talent they do. That's due to coaching. Raise your standards.

If Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban turn down the Texas job...you will be holding your breath again.

"Miami is nowhere close to what it used to be in terms of prestige. They have access to a lot of talent in South Florida like always but their fan support is pathetic."

Very true, indeed.

PATHETIC. And its usually the ******s on here *****ing the most that didn't show up to any of the games this year or last year. I've said it beofre and I'll say it again. WHY THE **** WOULD ANNNNNYYYY RECRUIT WANT TO PLAY IN FRONT OF THAT PATHETIC *** CROWD. Its embarrassing and frankly I applaud Golden for this awesome class he's got because that has got to be a ***** to sell. Imagine what bull**** hes gotta say to a kid who is considering us and Florida/Florida State and just coming off a visit to one of their games. This season aside Florida packs the swamp. Doak is electric for game day. Yet we were 7-1 with a loss to the best team in the country going into our biggest game in years and we can't get 10,000 people in the seats. **** the rest of the fans. Y'all ******* suck. Sick of you fair-weather ******* punks.

No **** that. Raise YOUR ******* standards.

God ****, I wish we would have beaten Duke or VT. That way I wouldn't have to listen to this applesauce soft bull**** for 9 months.

Golden has dealt with so much in his three short seasons here. The kids love him, he's busting his tail recruiting, and call it cliche all you want, but the man is committed to a process. Get up, go to work, and do the little things right each and every day...those habits breed success. Despite some game day deficiencies, Golden is meticulous. Once those little details have time to accumulate, we're going to be somethin'.

In the meantime, though, I'm not sure I can handle the mouth breathing bellowers on this board.

My only hope for a decent message board off-season is ripping Louisville a new one. Lord, I hope we rip them to shreds. Because they're Louisville. And because Teddy Bridgewater insulted me once. And because I hate their fans. And because I'm still salty over '06.

But mostly because I hate a good collection of you more than I hate losing, and that's saying something, because I hate losing.

Despite some game day deficiencies, Golden is meticulous.

That's like saying, "Despite killing 6 million Jews, Hilter was a great guy."

Those deficiencies are costing us games. The same problems that were there in Game 1 of Year One are there in Game 12 of Year Three. That's troubling.
