The teams that get a bye don't get a home game. All of those games will be played at the typical new years 6 bowl game locations (rose bowl, orange bowl, sugar bowl, etc.).

It could work out that we get the orange bowl and still get basically a home game. Add that to the perfect scenario.

They need and excuse to not do so. Last year they had the Travis injury. So far, not such convenient excuses this year.

Don't think so. They will absolutely consider "strength of conference".

A 3 loss Bama will get in over a 2 loss SMU all day.

A 2 loss bama will get in over a 1 loss smu all day.

I hate to agree with you but I do. I could see the SEC sending in as many as 6 schools into the playoffs. Hopefully its no more then 4 or even better just 3 teams

It’s almost a rub IMO. We go undefeated and get left out of the ACC championship, we can rest for 3 weeks and then get a home game in round 1. The other route we have to win the ACC championship. And then we get a bye and 3 weeks off. We lose, we have to go on the road in round 1.

I want the best path to win number 6

It would be the most Miami thing ever to win a National Title and not win the ACC while still going undefeated in conference play

Sure. no end to not winning an ACC title. No 1st round bye just so you can selfishly have a home game, then we get smoked in round 2 because of our seeding. Brilliant idea!!!

You good bro? The 5 seed gets the big 12 champ in the second round. I’m not overly concerned with Kansas state, Iowa State, or Colorado when juxtaposed with playing Ohio State, Georgia, or Oregon.

Thx for that. With that addition I think 5 and no conference game is def an easier path to championship game

You could have the #1 or #2 team in the country NOT make the ACCCG and have a chance at a bye in the first round. Worse, given how the country hates us, the committee would no doubt put us as the 8 seed...
