I hope this year's playoff picture and the now firmly entrenched media/coaching narrative that the ACC is a sub-P2 conference is resonating with Rad and the Powers-That-Be at the University.
Playing Captain Obvious here, but staying in any conference that isn't the B10 or SEC will be disastrous for UM sports at every level. Having to go undefeated or finish 11-1 just to fight for a single playoff spot is unsustainable.
I know there's a zillion-page mega thread on conference realignment, but I feel like the single biggest hurdle we will face going forward isn't 3rd down conversion % or even wins-losses, it's choosing to continue to play the game with one arm tied behind our backs, and that won't go away with a new DC, NIL collective, or head coach.
Here's hoping the folks that move and shake have been paying attention.
I have repeatedly said, if Miami doesn't get into one of the big2 conferences in the next decade, the program as we know it will be over. Our days as championship contenders or top 10 program will be gone. The money difference will increase with each passing year. We will no longer be able to compete financially and recruiting will take a major hit.
We are now trying to claw back to some kind of relevance but at some point the opposing headwinds will be too much and there will be no chance and we will be left behind.
