Bowl records are more meaningless than ever with opt outs.
Nope. Miami would have beaten Iowa State by Double digits if Cam played.
Miami
Clemson
SMU
Syracuse
Louisville
GT
Duke
Id take that over Big 12.
Even if you think Big 12 was better, it certainly wasnt by a wide gap.
-Clemson over Arizona State
-Miami over Iowa State
-BYU over SMU
-Syracuse and Colorado would be shootout
-Lousiville and Kansas State slight nod to Louisville
-GT and Baylor?
-Duke and Texas Tech?
I mean they are pretty friggin close going down the board to me when ACC had their QBs and best weapons playing
I will say that bowl games don't really tell how good a conference is. For example, we could have won ours if we played Ward more.
Just depends on opt outs. Sure Alabama losing with all their starters players matters more than Miami without their top 4 WR’s & Heisman candidate QB.
Context should matter. Plus, yeah, F the SEC
Stop trying to read so much into bowl games.
Some of you are truly obsessed with creating narratives.
CopeWhy did it take 16 posts before this one to say the obvious?
Bowl season is an absolute waste of time. Between transfers and opt out non-playoff bowl games are and will continue to tell us nothing.
People that put stock in the conference bowl championship just don’t get it.
Bowl season is broken and cfb will continue to be the best regular season is sports with the worst post season in sports. I don’t have great suggestions for fixing it. But 1-9? Who gives a ****!
Why are we supposed to beat them? But those teams BEAT the teams they were supposed to beat. We were supposed to beat GT and Syracuse and lost to both, which happens every year here.
We were favorites...and yes, I know how Vegas works. Plus, we had better records than they did, a more talented roster, etc. You can't use the argument that Indiana played nobody and destroyed virtually every opponent, then say why were we supposed to beat GT and Syracuse. Guess we weren't supposed to beat MTSU in Mario's 1st year since they steamrolled us, right? Why are we supposed to beat them?
Still the same reply…Was talking about the post above mine. Calm down it’s Sunday AM.
C’mon crib.“ Unless the Sec loses” . Then around here they start mattering.
For those out there who think we should leave the ACC for the BIG10, have you looked at the ACC's Bowl Record? 1 win and 9 LOSSES. If we can't even make the ACCCG with a generational QB how in the world would we be competitive in the BIG10? I get the extra TV revenue, but playing November road games in front of 100,000 fans in Columbus, Ann Arbor, State College along with Madison, East Lansing, Iowa City, etc would be an absolute embarrassment...of course we're used to that but
Wasn’t really my point. It’s that getting through a conference slate in the Big 10 or SEC isn’t really the murderer’s row that some people make it to be. Miami would have been favored over every team on Indiana’s schedule outside of Ohio State so is the Big 10 really that daunting or is it just that the top 3 teams are better than anyone in the ACC?But those teams BEAT the teams they were supposed to beat. We were favored over GT and Syracuse by double digits and lost. So why wouldn't Miami drop at least a game or 2 on the BIG10 they were favored to win. Last I checked the BIG10 had 4 teams in the CFP and 2 in the final 4, most of any leagueWasn’t really my point. My point was that playing a big 10 schedule wouldn’t have been that much tougher. It’s not a gauntlet. I never said that Miami would win every game they were favored in.We were favored over GT and Syracuse by double digits and lost. The teams at the top are certainly better in the BIG and SEC. Even if you count Notre Dame as an ACC team, it’s not a comparison but a majority of both conferences are just a bunch of mediocre/bad teams.Agreed, but at some perception is reality, and the perception is the B1G and SEC are tougher schedules. A lot of that perception is heavily influenced by Fox and ESPN, who obviously have a vested interest in gassing up those two, and some of it has been on field results.
It was on full display when Bama got rolled up at OU and they were still casting doubt on whether Bama was out. Any team from any other conference that lost a game like that for their third loss would barely be in the top 25. Not even a B1G team could pull that off, sans maybe Taint and Oregon.
It also showed up with Cam. Any 9/10 win QB from the P2 with his numbers would have run away with the Heisman.
and those big10 teams playing in soflo in the middle of august 100 degree heat in front of thousands maybe tens of thousands an absolute embarrasment for the big10 schools. of course we're used to that. For those out there who think we should leave the ACC for the BIG10, have you looked at the ACC's Bowl Record? 1 win and 9 LOSSES.
