Been to Swamp many times and it can be a VERY HOSTILE PLACE TO PLAY.

Well as a UF fan I’m sure you have
Very underrated post. This should have 20+ likes. I don’t want to hear any “Well, it is in the Swamp and we know that is a tough place to play!” BS intangible nonsense. PLENTY of teams the last few years have won handily in the Swamp. We should be added to the list soon. That mystique is gone. Long gone. They finished the season on a 5 game losing streak that included 3 L’s at home. I’m feeling pretty solid, I don’t think they got better this off season
You don't just walk into the swamp....If you're trying to make a case for Florida to win this is a terrible attempt.
-Swamp is hard to play in
-Gators have won big home matchups in the past
-Miami had a bad record the past two years
-SEC is different
Hitting on all the hopium intangibles.
Yep. Heard this exact same “swamp” blah, blah, blah BS before and I enjoyed watching their fans filing out of their stadium at the beginning of the 4th quarter. They are the most arrogant fan base I’ve encountered at an away game. They really do think they are academically and athletically superior to everyone else. I’ll take over/under bets now at how many times I’ll hear their fans say to me “You’re a Miami fan, but you didn’t actually go to school there.” o/u @ 5.The only reason Miami isn’t a double digit favorite is because this game is in Gainesville. Of course their fans are clinging to the idea that the swamp is this impossible place to win because that’s literally all they have.
I can imagine an environment like theirs leading to a couple extra procedural penalties and at worst a turnover but that's about it. Ultimately coaches + players determine games and any deterrent from that is pure cope. The only reason Miami isn’t a double digit favorite is because this game is in Gainesville. They lost to Ole **** in '89.I think we go in and get the win for sure but something I recently heard (didn’t have any luck finding it easily) is that UF has some ridiculously long home opener winning streak. Something like 27 years. Does anyone know if that’s true? I’m sure a ton of them are to ****** teams. Regardless we win
I've watched condensed versions of several of their games last year, most of their passing game is quick release stuff, #3 for them is very good with the ball in his hands. I don't expect them to 7 step drop Mertz much in this gameIf Miami gets consistent pressure with front 4, the gata can’t win. If Miami can’t, then stuff like turnover battle, penalties, field position, etc will matter a lot more.

If Miami controls the LOS with 4, Gata won't have the numbers to dink & dunk successfully. At some point, they must stretch the field (or really establish the run). Caveman offense doesn't work when you get whipped uprfront.I've watched condensed versions of several of their games last year, most of their passing game is quick release stuff, #3 for them is very good with the ball in his hands. That’s the reality.I think the point is this group hasn't played a real game together.
New QB, center (line calls), RB (pass pro checks) etc. On defense the DB's haven't played together.
Comms typically fall apart in noise for the OL/RB in protection, and the back 5 in coverage.
You can't simulate 90K fans in Week One on the road vs a rival. Impossible in the IPF or anywhere.

Might have an impact if it were a night game. Just another road game.Been to Swamp many times and it can be a VERY HOSTILE PLACE TO PLAY.
Washington is every bit as loud as anything in the SEC and that crowd was juiced because it was a must win game against it's rival. Plus, Washington was as good as anything the SEC could field last year.Ward played at Oregon and at Washington (so also a rivalry game) last year. I have no doubt both those games were relatively similar environments to what he'll experience @ UF. Sure west coast teams aren't typically the best supporters of football like the SEC teams may be, but I'm pretty sure Washington and Oregon's stadiums are two of the loudest in the country due to design - especially on a per capita/seat basis. Maybe not quite as "hostile", and I'm sure those fans didn't view Washington St as a very big deal so maybe weren't being their loudest/craziest... but I'd wager it was at least 90-95% of whatever we will experience @ UF.
Etienne made explosive plays in the run game for them as well. IPearsall was the engine behind a lot of that offenses punch. And if Montrell is out as well it's going to be tough for them.
So they're 9-4 in the swamp under Napier. Pull out FCS and G5 and they are 5-4. Pull out Vanderbilt and they are 4-4.They talk about the Swamp like you just can't compete in there. They haven't played the best teams in there
