A View From The Other Side

So much talk about the swamp being tough to play at, but most of our guys have played in hostile environments too.

Go back and listen to that Waters guy again. He tries to make The Swamp so fearsome by (and I'm sure nobody saw this one coming) talking about the SEC. He tried to act like Cam Ward won't really be prepared for The Swamp because he "only" had to play in a couple of tough stadiums in the Pac 12.

WHO GIVES A ****?

If Miami only has to play in ONE tough stadium in 2024 (The Swamp, as I'm assuming that the crowds at Cal and GaTech and Syracuse will not nearly be as loud), then why would The Gator act like Cam Ward (or any Miami player) only having a couple of tough stadiums per year...would then cause their knees to buckle when they step on the field in Hogtown?

It's insane.

And, hey, maybe JUST MAYBE The Gator is better-prepared for a hostile crowd...because SEC-SEC-SEC...to which I respond:

A. The Gator is the home team, moron, and
B. Miami only has to do this ONCE in 2024, and
C. Worry about your "advantage" in hostile environments when you start to play road games in the SEC, moron...

Miami will be fine. I know that The Gator has been trying to build up the advantage of premature leg-****ing in all of its opponents for several decades, but Miami is fine, thank you.

If Miami gets consistent pressure with front 4, the gata can’t win. If Miami can’t, then stuff like turnover battle, penalties, field position, etc will matter a lot more.

I agree. It's what they are dealing with in practice right now, and I don't think The Gator defensive front 7 is as good as ours.

She is.

But if I tell it - it's a massive violation of CIS rules and I'd be banned for a decade.

Minimum.

I'll call in CAS.

I think the point is this group hasn't played a real game together.

New QB, center (line calls), RB (pass pro checks) etc. On defense the DB's haven't played together.

Comms typically fall apart in noise for the OL/RB in protection, and the back 5 in coverage.

You can't simulate 90K fans in Week One on the road vs a rival. Impossible in the IPF or anywhere.
Lol that ish don’t matter, they have ALL played in hostile territory before. They’re not true freshmen out there. C’mon maaaannn!!! They have had plenty of time to get chemistry and as I said, we can simulate noise in the IPF.

I think we go in and get the win for sure but something I recently heard (didn’t have any luck finding it easily) is that UF has some ridiculously long home opener winning streak. Something like 27 years. Does anyone know if that’s true? I’m sure a ton of them are to ****** teams. Regardless we win

All this talk about the crowd…Score and get a multiple stops early and it will be quiet lol

I think the game will be much closer than most here expect. SEC is way more difficult than the ACC plus quite honestly Mario at Miami has proven to be a horrendous day game coach. We shall see but I think too many people here is giving Miami too much credit and not enough to the Gators. I hope I'm dead wrong.
That has nothing to do with this game.

Since 2022, versus teams with a winning record, florida is 1-4 non-conf and 2-8 in SEC play.

Also, the SEC really wasn't all that impressive last season. Yes, they had 6 ranked teams, but the rest of the league was mediocre at best.

The ACC had 5 ranked teams if you count notre dame. Which is logical since they played 6 ACC teams last season...only two short of a full ACC schedule.

Ward played at Oregon and at Washington (so also a rivalry game) last year. I have no doubt both those games were relatively similar environments to what he'll experience @ UF. Sure west coast teams aren't typically the best supporters of football like the SEC teams may be, but I'm pretty sure Washington and Oregon's stadiums are two of the loudest in the country due to design - especially on a per capita/seat basis. Maybe not quite as "hostile", and I'm sure those fans didn't view Washington St as a very big deal so maybe weren't being their loudest/craziest... but I'd wager it was at least 90-95% of whatever we will experience @ UF.
