A View From The Other Side

If you're trying to make a case for Florida to win this is a terrible attempt.

-Swamp is hard to play in
-Gators have won big home matchups in the past
-Miami had a bad record the past two years
-SEC is different

Hitting on all the hopium intangibles.

Funniest part was "record the past two years".

Florida got worse from 2022 to 2023. Miami got better from 2022 to 2023.

But we're "equally matched"...

One thing I have noticed in watching the Gators previews is the Gator fans are as confident that Mertz is better than Ward as Canes fanes are confident that Ward > Mertz.

Mertz could be much better, but Ward is now throwing behind one of the best o-lines in the country and Mertz is looking across the line at one of the best defensive lines in the country.

So much talk about the swamp being tough to play at, but most of our guys have played in hostile environments too. I mean there were 80k in the house at FSU last year! We played there with a freshman QB and almost won the **** game smh. Cam has played at some big time stadiums and so has our center. Most of the new guys we brought in played in hostile environments also. Hard to see that being a big problem to us. Plus we can simulate the noise in the IPF. We went to T&M stadium (12th man) two years ago (at night) with a bunch of young guys and played a close game and played a **** of a game defensively. Our OC sucked that year though smh. This ain't College Football 25.. stadium atmosphere won't affect this team. AND we got helmet radios now.

I think the game will be much closer than most here expect. SEC is way more difficult than the ACC plus quite honestly Mario at Miami has proven to be a horrendous day game coach. We shall see but I think too many people here is giving Miami too much credit and not enough to the Gators. I hope I'm dead wrong.

I think the point is this group hasn't played a real game together.

New QB, center (line calls), RB (pass pro checks) etc. On defense the DB's haven't played together.

Comms typically fall apart in noise for the OL/RB in protection, and the back 5 in coverage.

You can't simulate 90K fans in Week One on the road vs a rival. Impossible in the IPF or anywhere.
