A quick update after talking to some people

Is the staff just too green now that they cant read a player? The kids are coming out of the visits on a high and through the grape vine sauces relay that the coaches feel good about players and then as days pass were falling out of it. Also are we making mistakes trying to time announcements? It's pretty clear Barney told the staff he was coming, why couldn't we just let it pop already?

I agree.

IMO, the season would only matter for kids committed to Miami who are still be recruited by others.....meaning good season they stay, bad season they bounce. I doubt any highly ranked kids committed elsewhere this summer flip to Miami just because Mario wins 9 games.

It’s amazing that we’re in year two of a complete rebuild, already with a second iteration of the staff, and we’re already on the clock to win big. How did we put ourselves here? How did perceptions get here so quick?

Mario is already showing signs of desperation—doing things out of character. I’ve seen this story before. It doesn’t end well. We better ******* win or this might be the death of the program.

They believe the roster is a hundred times better than last year- that belief needs to turn into wins and momentum on the field. Hopefully, there is some good news off the field coming soon. Until then, everyone is right to be concerned because the results speak for themselves.

Welp, I got criticized for being pessimistic about our (DL) class. I thought we would be in better shape with Scott and breeland but after D’s report, I can envision a realistic scenario where we lose all of our top DL targets and end up with a class of Russell, Jackson and Pickett or something like that.

It's been bad longer than that. I'm not a *****y type either. But the swan dive with coaching hires, the season of what never was going to be, good class, but the cormani collapse set the table for doubt. And I let my eyes tell me what I see, a medicore start, full of hot air and wishful thinking. Maybe all this magically stops and a run of 5 stars and 4 stars ensues. What do you believe is more probable at this moment?

This update does not obviously apply to UF. If we can't leave ACC soon we are just gonna keep lagging behind. Elite kids are not committing to 3rd tier conferences more often than not.

Edit- Movie "Old School" is a top 5 comedy of all time.

Mario is a loser who I have no confidence in, but curious what out of character you’d say he’s done?
 
I can care less about recruiting at this point in the year. But in general, being a fan of this program is just so boring. The on field product has been trash for decades and literally nothing exciting to look forward to. We finally have a glimpse of hope last year with a proven head coach coming in who is stud recruiter, but then goes on to hire the worst OC in the country and zaps all the momentum from the program. I’m tired of being tired of being tired.

And for that I apologize. It’s premature to throw in the towel but man, today feels like we drenched a room with gasoline and lit it on fire

You’re only being “pessimistic” based on 20 years of evidence

I’m still in wait and see mode because this whole thing is bigger than the guys that have been committing lately, but the only person I know that takes losing on the trail more than this board is Mario

We will see how it goes. I don’t think winning during the season will move the needle much though this stuff is about relationships
