A quick update after talking to some people

If you’re overpaying for the Barney’s of the world (like Nebraska) then you’re not in a good position in recruiting. Miami will be fine at WR.

Like all of UMs former players and most people with a brain have said, if Mario doesn’t win at Miami during his tenure then the program is legit dead. Like Colorado type dead pre Deion. I’ll legit be done if Mario flops and move onto to strictly NFL. Recruiting is exhausting anyway and starting to not be worth my time.
 
Need to win and the offense needs to be dynamic. I’d be surprised if kids weren’t skeptical. He could sell the unknown last year. Will know how recruiting goes by the first two games. Doesnt matter who the opponents are. If he hit with the coordinators this time, recruiting will pick up. Kids will flip.
 
Mario 2022 recruiting: we’re going to get elite recruits so we can win.

Mario 2023 recruiting: we need to win to get elite recruits.

Miami 2003-2023 recruiting: we need to win to get elite recruits.

Miami 2003-2023 football: dumpster fire.

Nah. Elite kids you overpay on. Kids like Barney (decent player) you offer a nice bag but don't panic when he's offered more by matching. Now, the DL kids.......

I don’t think I could ever do it even if I tried. It’s a sick addiction and passion. But I feel you …. It’s been a tiring 15 years.

Off topic but regarding DMoney’s original post in May about June being killer. He was definitely wearing the shades but also was right to say it. We had some pretty **** good weekends when it came to who was visiting and attention/spotlight. Unfortunately, it just didn’t materialize and isn’t looking that way at the moment.

But one thing we do know is that things can change quick in this sport. Preseason last year FSU was for dead and we were top 15. Look how that turned out. Trying to keep a little faith….

Poster on 247 brought up that ultimatum. He got a lot of crap from people saying it wasn’t true. Made perfect sense to me that it happened. Glad to see you verify it…

neither of those schools have anything to worry about when the acc folds/cfp contract ends after '25 season, and recruits know it. probably not the main cause of our recruiting woes but i don't think you can just write it off as nothing.
