We had a real GM in Alonzo Highsmith. I don’t know what happened there only random comments I’ve seen here which pointed to challenges working with the Head Coach or his infrastructure in place. I’ll let others who my know confirm if that’s their understanding.

I think the issue was more working with someone in the recruiting department that has been named in previous posts.
This is just utter ridiculous that it is tolerated and that he still has a job. I’m not the type to say let someone go and didn’t even say it for Guidry but this is just ridiculous.

I get having loyalty to staff that are loyal to you (Smith & mario). But when the staff makes decisions that undermine you or make you look bad, you have to step back and reevaluate how much loyalty you return.

This kind of stuff unravels alot of the good work that was done in the past three years. I don't understand how someone who is as big a control freak as Mario appears to be allows someone like SMith to have so much latitude... Especially when it comes to recruiting which Mario prides himself on.

Seems to me it's a sign Mario takes too much on and is desperately in need of a real GM.

I can only imagine how many bricks MC **** after Mateer committed to OU. And it all played out on 12/28.

Brent venables have been stickin him in a locker going on 2 recruiting cycles why would they be so **** confident with that knowledge and the qb having 2 of his coaches heading to ou?. Iy was fools gold so bad i didnt even watch the kids highlights once i got the knowledge.

Hopefully my last post on this for the day. I believe Mario loves Miami more than any of us. He left a gold mine to try and bring us back. He hit on Cam, blew a lot of other stuff and I’ve been critical and will continue to be. All that being said, he can adapt or die. Hire a Dc who owns that side of the ball, all evals, analysts, offers NIL etc. bring someone in to help back office. Use some technology or scouting services to provide operating leverage to the org like they do in the pros. Put a real budget together. Run this like the multimillion dollar business it is. This **** is aging me

Hes been with him from the jumo..looks like he is his actual friend. Him n Mirabal are locked in with mario no one else have more pull than them

A real friend would put his friend in a position to succeed. Mario should get him a job at a g5 school as on on field coach. This is not good for ANYONE.
