The irony is what you posted was perfectly reasonable. Mario's staff has demonstrated a lot of quality results in recruiting so to the general fan, this looks like a dropped ball that may be explainable due to turnover. But Franchise has joined the ranks of those who think anything Mario does is **** now.

Again, I do think the leaker sharing with Ferman is inexcusable though. Hopefully just some newbie GA that didn't realize what they were doing and will profusely apologize to the player and agent.

This is not a leaker issue. The issue here is how the department is run. Look at the classes, like ok at how the pieces fall together. We need real evaluators, real investment and real infrastructure. Look at what real programs do. This isn’t a money thing. Now more than ever it comes down to making the right evals because everyone good has money
 
Unfortunately, this happening to a perceived character issue kid isn’t gonna do anything except having us preach to the choir.

i'd have to say whoever Ferman's plug is. IDK who that could be. Maybe @JayCane20 is right and it's Smith.

You know with Ferman & Shodell it's all about being out there first...

Can you clarify something for me? Does the offense have a different evaluation team than the defense? Because the offense seems to be doing pretty well in the recruiting/development phase. I guess what I’m really asking is, does a new DC also bring some analysts with him?

I can almost for a fact tell you what happened bc I know what happened with another guy. Position coach wanted him, visit was set. Smithy boy said nah and told Gary,

Here’s what I know. No one overrules Mirabal which is more run game focused so OL / RB / TE. The only position I’ve heard has some issues with same stuff is WR. We threw for a bazillion yards and have a pass friendly offense so we still got some good guys. But missed on a lot of uber talented guys because we didn’t even pursue… Qb for portal may work out but trust me, it’s been pure panic since Mateer went to OU.

Multiple problems happening. The wrong and/or inept people doing evals and poor structure/management, all falling on the guy in charge.

I can only imagine how many bricks MC **** after Mateer committed to OU. And it all played out on 12/28.

Evals should be a staff effort, not 1 guy...be it position coach or DTrain...but Coordinator and position coach should have loudest voices if you built a staff correctly.

Mario should have final say after input from all parties. I would be surprised if Mario is allowing guys to go rogue and offer/pull offers on their own....but there sure is a stench of some sort right now that needs to be burned off with a pack of matches.

We had a real GM in Alonzo Highsmith. I don’t know what happened there only random comments I’ve seen here which pointed to challenges working with the Head Coach or his infrastructure in place. I’ll let others who my know confirm if that’s their understanding.

He was GM in name only . It was cute and all but nothing like we thought.
