A little Cristobal/ Kiffin perspective today...

Not really perspective, but kind of a kick in the nuts.

Yes I know that could be considered the same thing...I'm just saying that one we all want to view as reality and then other we all pray never happens.

The last thing we want as fans is to get exactly what we want...and then we get kicked in the nuts
Here’s the thing, unless you’re getting Saban the best you can hope for is a coach that puts you in the picture and then things can bounce your way. We’d give our left nuts to have had the success Mario’s had at Oregon

And I would imagine Mario can build better teams at Miami than he can at Oregon

I love how everyone blames the lack of a QB at Oregon yet overlooks how their defense played.

The OL was getting whooped all night as well.

Oh, all those distractions. Sorry, they lose it so bad they must've forgot to look at the scoreboard. Surely if they had, some pride would've kicked in.

That was a dumpster fire. All the close calls they've had this year and come from behind wins or ones they barely held onto, all kicked into overdrive and they got curb stomped.

You can't spin that loss tonight. It was atrocious. This isn't his first, second, or even third year there. It's his fourth. Three top 10 recruiting classes in a row.

I see people say he's a monster recruiter, but then they'll say where's the competition out West with everyone and their brother down and out for the count.

So he then comes here and has to fend off every top team in the South and parts across the entire country?

Mario is alright. He's a 9 or 10 win guy here. That should be good enough for this administration. It won't be good enough for most of the fans here though. He'll continue to drop games and we're not in the excuse business.

These things happen to every single coach. Saban had very similar games the year before he won the NC with LSU. If you think really good coaches don't lose games like this you're just wrong. I'm not saying Cristobal will be a great coach but this isn't something rare.

You may very well be right, but I think for the time being nine or 10 games might be the ceiling. Not always, but for the next couple of years at least anyway.

I mean I’m ambivalent on all of the coaching candidates to be honest, I can’t think of one that’s a slam dunk right now. Who would you prefer?

nitpicking coaches ain’t it. all them coaches got some bruises on them. Bad losses happen to all of them. Whoever get the job will likely to be whole lot better then Diaz.

Oregon was a 3 point underdog today and lost by 31 on the road. They underperformed Vegas by 28 points.

Ole Miss was a 36 point favorite today and won by 14 at home. They underperformed Vegas by 22 points.

And Vandy was even driving to cut it to 7 and set up an onside kick opportunity but threw a bad pick inside the 10 to end it. I am not condemning either of them btw. My point is, don't overreact. Zoom out. They are both still excellent coaches who we'd be very, very lucky to get.
Agreed. Cristobal could still finish the regular season 10-2 with a very average QB. Kiffin could also finish 10-2 at Mississippi. Losses happen. Bad losses happen to good coaches. Some of our best head coaches had 9-3/10-2 type seasons. I don't care who you are. You are not going to go 12-0 11-1 every year. Unless of course you are Alabama.

Ive never seen so many ppl rationalize a coach's losses like has been done for Mariop Cristobal for Cane fans the last 3 years.

*Look if we get him we get him and im riding with it.

But some of yall gotta be real with yourselves and be real with what he actually is and what he can be here at Um.

Ask yourself. If we played Clemson opening week next year. Who would you rather have coaching Miami in that game? Kiffen or Mario? With me it is absolutely be Kiffin. He wouldn't change a thing on offense which is excellent. Mario in my opinion will want to completely overhaul the offense to run run pass type. Our offense is loaded and we are ready to win big on offense. Defense will need alot of help this off-season but I honestly think we win 10+ games next year with Lane Kiffin coaching us
