A few random Things I'd expect to see against FSU

Also, I don't think the "bend but don't break" D is the worst thing against FSU. They rely a lot on short to medium passes.

But we also can't let them complete 30 passes in a row because our corners are 7 yards off the ball.

We are going to be better in the trenches than they are.

We still might not win, but they are going to have to earn every mother****ing yard

Lot of Winston talk but we better be ready to slow down their running attack or we'll have no shot at all. Freeman and Wilder tore us last year and eventhough we've improved so have they. Cornelius starting scares the crap out of me but especially on this front.

I'm mostly worried about Benjamin to be honest. I think we will be okay against their runners.

And Karlos Williams. That guy is fast!

Anybody expecting creativity and some magical formula that converts Morris into a competent passer over the middle is wasting time and energy on the impossible. He's just not that guy. Adding a wrinkle here and there is expected, but an overhaul at this stage is silly. Do what works:

Morris has to hit a couple of big plays.
Defense must keep us close in the first half.
Run game has to give us something, can't get shut down like the Florida game.
Get to the 4th quarter within 1 score.

Then, let's put their conditioning to the test late. Our guys have been in slugfests since early on and have yet to falter; ****, we actually rise to the occasion as the pressure increases. Noles haven't played a tight one yet, and haven't played a team with athletes on both sides of the ball equal to or at least similar to theirs.

Until proven otherwise this season, I believe our coaches and players will rise to the occasion. No reason to lose faith now.

Offense:

- I want to see a lot of Seantrel
- I'd like to see a diamond backfield with Morris in pistol, Dallas and duke. Read option stuff.
- rb/te screens - several
- unbalanced mauling line with trel, Linder, mongo, wheeler, McD, flowers, Bunche
- sandland in the passing game

Defense:

- Gunter at safety some with Crawford filling his spot at cb
- more of McCord
- blitzing from LB or bush and get Winston on his back
- I'd like to have d'onofrio aggressive

Agree with this, bring more heat than we have all season and make the young QB think too much.

Ok I am English and as you can see I post very rarely. Mainly due to the fact that I am still learning this great game of yours.

This maybe very basic and no doubt you guys will pick many holes in this post but f**k it here are my thoughts.

Offense.

Run, run and keep running it down their throats. I watched a bit of the FSU game against NC State and after the 1st period, where NCS were like rabbits in the headlights, they did get some success in the 2nd half by running the ball. Ok admittedly FSU may have taken their foot of the gas and played 2nd and 3rd teamers but to me this where we can have some success. It also keeps their offense of the field. Also this hopefully then will open up some play action and we can hit a couple of bombs down field. No turnovers, time of possesion is key.

Defense

Risk and reward for me... if we play the cautious D that has happened for the past 2 games then I think we have no chance of stopping them. For some reason the past 2 weeks, 2 players have shredded us with this approach and it only gets better after HT adjustments. We cannot rely on this this time aorund as the game could be out of sight by the half.

Man coverage on their receivers Greene and Benjamin and bring the house to get at their QB. He needs to be pressured all game. He may have some success but this also hopefully will create turnovers.

We win the turnover battle of time of possesion then I believe we can come away with the WIN and be 8-0!!!

Ok let me have it...

Its All About The 'U'...

Let's build on our strengths. Hold the ball for only five or six minutes this game. Turn it over often. Oh, and win. 8-0!

Is it me, or do we seem to be a little unorganized on defense just before the snap. I remember this was an issue the last few seasons...Does anyone else see this ?

Our Corners against Benjamin with no help overtop is a mismatch. I sure hope we DON'T do that. Clemson and NC State was burnt trying that tactic.
see more man defense and hopefully have a corner on a wideout

I do like the wildcat reference
