9 wins, I'll take it

9 wins with two of our biggest offensive weapons gone for half of the season. Not too shabby.

For those of you who don't like it, go tune into the USF-UCF game and start cheering for one of those teams. Come mierdas.

Can you criticize the president and still be an American, come mierda?

Don't let your head explode trying to answer that question now..

Can't call a year where we got blown out by two mediocre teams (one being DUKE) a solid season. We're 9-3 because of an incredibly easy schedule.

FSU Schedule not much to crow about either, but for Clemson. No doubt had Duke, Dorsett and Morris been healthy things could have been different. Only fools could argue the NCAA didn't hamper recruiting. All all that up and 9-3 and a bowl is something to build on not to mention the road win in the cold.

Sure it "could have been better" and the D needs work but even you "f@ck Manny Fire Dorito" crowd has to admit with a stellar recruiting class lining up and this years record iOS better than the last three years....that's called progress.

FSU didn't have a great schedule, but they blew the doors of everyone they played including Clemson and us when both were ranked in the Top 10. Boston College is a good win and better than any win we will have on our schedule. The teams they beat were junk, but they did what good teams are supposed to do, destroy them and leave scorched earth in the process. The closest win they had all year was a 14 point win over BC in Chestnut Hill. Their second closest win was Miami by nearly four touchdowns.

That's a fair point that FSU blew everyone out and I am not arguing that the U is comparable, yet. That being said last I looked a golf score card has a final number on it it doesn't tell you if the par was pretty or not. My point is simply to all the whiners on this site that want to fire someone because we dint win the Coastal that given the sh@tstorm that was the NCAA and the key injuries that 9-3 and a bowl game sustains momentum with recruits and the program which more than you had the last few years.

Yeah the D really sucks. You don't think Al knows that?

These recruits know these players. These parents of these recruits know good football coaches as they have lived the game with their kids. You got a dynamite class lined up, the recruits must see some things going in the right direction why cant the die hard fan base?

At the very least I am happy and excited for our players to finally be going to a Bowl Game.

Us fans, on the other hand, have to put up with Dorito for another game which makes me want to cut my limbs off of my body.

If you're happy with 9-3 then maybe one of those teams is more your speed.

Its only good if Golden changes something about that defense. Its not the worst season but Shannon would have won 10 games with that schedule and he sucked ***. I'm sorry I would rather watch a stellar defense and a pedestrian offense. Its unbearable and most of u act like you don't understand. Miami fans are not used to this crap defense. .....especially one with no aggression. Ill wait and see. But let me tell you, if Golden hitches his wagon to No D there maybe banners by mid season next year...new QB and all that. U need a defense to lean on

See, lots of you guys' problems are stemming from the fact that you're looking at the average numbers for these opposing offenses from before we play them. If you look at the numbers from after we play them, you'll see that their offenses are rated much higher...wait, wut?

The very fact some have to celebrate moral victories tells you all you need to know about this season.

We lost to Duke. There is no one more responsible than Mr. 500.......

Come on. Man. We have sucked for years. Shannons Defenses could barely get off the field themselves by the end of his last year. Miami fans are long since used to this crap, or should be after almost a decade.

His defenses were never this bad. I would kill for a Shannon defense right now.

We show up for the bowl game and play well then this season becomes solid. We stink the house out in the bowl game then the season goes down as mediocre. Never expected a BCS team this year but did expect to win our division. All in all this program is going in the right direction and Al is the right guy for the job. Lot's of positives to build on as a program right now.

Most importantly I want to see this team improve over the next month and carry that momentum into recruiting /next year. These upperclassmen have put in a ton of work and it would be great to see them finish strong and have some fun doing it. Seeing a kid like Cleveland contribute and catch a TD yesterday was really fun to watch.

If memory serves, the most optimistic posters predicted a 10-2, 9-3 season. We landed on 9-3, and I'm certainly angry at the Duke and VT losses, but that's progress any way you cut it.

The D is horrid despite being littered with some real players, but we've made a big step in the right direction. And plus, this class we have coming in, zomg! We'll be alright.

I'm fine with it and it's about what I expected. Personally I couldn't give 2 ***** about the coastal. People talk about "The Coastal" like it's a BCS game. It's a ticket to an FSU beatdown and that's about it because they're really good and nobody in our division is.

I thought we'd lose 3-4 on the strength (weakness) of our defense. If you had told me we'd lose to VT, FSU, and a 9 win nameless team, I would've been fine with that. We certainly could've done better, but they way it worked out is fine. I'd rather be 9-3 with some events necessitating a fundamental re-evaluation of the defensive side than 10-2 with an FSU beatdown pending and a 50-60th rated defense that everybody is still touting as perfectly fine if the talent just comes along. If we needed one more defenseless loss, so be it.

I agree with your first comment. Define "alright"?
