No, not u, someone who was talking about Bama being here and having Thomas on the sideline.

U are overplaying the whole Alabama will be here and in his ear the whole week thing. It doesn't work like that. Dead periods and contact rules are all in effect. He can't be on the sideline or a guest of Bama for the game.
U are over playing that whole angle.
Cane and I never thought otherwise. Could be wrong, but, I've never wavered.

Dead period or not, he can still go see them practice. And to think there is not contact being made is naive.

Ok, my mistake. Like you and AU, I have been on the Thomas = Cane for about a year now, as long as we didn't collapse on the field this year.

We definitely didn't collapse on the field this year.

I think Miami exceeded the expectations of many, including recruits.

This year I think could have only helped with recruiting in terms of the overall scheme and game play as well as recruits looking for early playing time.

Yup, and I am on the side that the bowl ban this year helps the incoming recruits.

It was important for Thomas to go to a winning program, or at least one like ours that has a bright (near) future. All we had to do was show were weren't going to get killed by the NCAA, and show we can hold our own on the field despite being young.

Go back and check Thomas' comments after we lost the FSU game. Spoken like a Cane fan IMO. There may have been a time where it was in doubt, but not anymore if I had to bet on it.

Not naive. I'm sure some of that may happen, if he wants to attend a practice he will. It's not gonna be like some here imagine it will be.

Yea I vaguely remember reading the article after the FSU game.

Thomas can come in and get immediate playing time. He probably won't start but if he comes here he will def. get PT in certain packages.

I'm more worried about Bama and the $EC money

I have no doubt that the kid wants to be a Cane but $$$ talks and i would bet that Bama will go all out for Thomas. will make it a tough decision for him

Dude you keep saying that in every thread. Let it go with the money talk unless you know Thomas has his hand out

not saying that he has his hand out just that Bama is tossin it around and 6 is a premier prospect that I would bet they would pull out all the stops for

Reason I speak skeptically regarding Bama is cause I live up here in B'ham. Their rectruiting junkies (sounds familiar), have high hopes of landing him. I want nothing more than Matthew to be on the OB sidelines with the Tie..not the Tide. These wahoos are more fanatical about college football than most Canes fans could ever imagine.

As far as Saban to the NFL, nothing would make more sense if he did than Cleveland. Hometown, Kent State alum, full circle for his career, and Trent Richardson totin' the pill. We can dream, can't we?

Yeah my comment wasn't about hand-outs either. Just saying Bama has been putting the full court press on Thomas for a long long time now and it's their last chance. Figure coming off a championship would be a big weekend to pull out all the stops.

Maybe I end up being WAY off here but Thomas, sorry rokulika, just seems like a kid that gets it. He gets what we are about and what we are doing here, and his personality seems to mesh with Golden. Not all SFLA guys are like this but Thomas and Collins are two guys that, from everything they have said, seem like perfect fits for our coach and our school. They may have some serious questions along the way, but in the end all that matters is where they sign and play.

I don't think Thomas is one of those kids you offer money to. Sometimes it can actually hurt your chances with a kid, questioning their ethics and trying to buy them out and ****. Not all of these kids want to be pimped out to the highest bidder.

Usually, it is the family doing the pimping, it should be noted. Not always, some kids are just extra pragmatic and lacking in ethical scruples and whatnot, but usually the family initiates that money talk.

What did he say after the FSU loss? Can't recall... Thanks!

Unless he's just adamant about leaving home for school, I can't see him going anywhere but Miami.

Bama makes sense if he wants to jump on the bandwagon (which I understand), but FSU isn't much further ahead in their pursuit of a title (I think we beat them next year).

I absolutely think he'll be a 'Cane but I really hope he takes that visit here the 18th.

I respectfully disagree w jhall here. I think he knows where he's going. Just having fun w the process. Him and Kirkland and the other Thomas and other kids from btw. A lot hinging on where he goes and while I don't believe in package deals, Kirkland and him don't have many schools in common. As jhall said, family and local school usually wins out.
5X He's taking his mother to FSU for his visit. That's not playing the game and having fun. I have to assume that she's all Miami/Barrow and he leans FSU and wants Momma on board. Hard for me to be optimistic.

Reasons to be optimistic
1. He goes to feeder school
2. Momma
3. Mia is lber u
4. Close to home
5. Loves barrow
6. Knows a lot of kids on team
7. Knows golden loves to play the freshman
8. Golden and his relentless pursuit ( he has stated Mia recruiting him hardest)
