Did an interview with Chad Simmons on Scout and had a few things to say:

-Miami is recruiting him the hardest

-Visit schedule is Alabama (1/11), USC (1/18), FSU (1/25), Georgia (2/1)

-Says he will be taking a mid-week visit to Miami. Gotta agree with Pete here though and think Thomas comes here on the 18th instead.

-50/50 on whether he stays in Florida

After being in the spotlight for a long time I think this thing has come full circle. JMO. When Thomas first hit the scene it was Miami or Alabama. Miami if he stayed in state, and Bama if he left. Everyone seems to think its a Miami/FSU battle but I think Bama, especially if he visits right after they win the championship, is definitely something to worry about. I think he will ultimately decide to stay home for his family so he ends up at Miami, but business is about to pick up.

Playing out like a typical Miami commit, IMO. And not just being optimistic. I think he knows where he's going.

Holy **** how stressful are the next few weeks gonna be...

For real.

Few things with him to keep in mind:

-we have been on him hard from the beginning

-we showed improvement on the field and have made ourselves easier to access

-distance/family

When you do those things right, you usually win out in the end.

I respectfully disagree w jhall here. I think he knows where he's going. Just having fun w the process. Him and Kirkland and the other Thomas and other kids from btw. A lot hinging on where he goes and while I don't believe in package deals, Kirkland and him don't have many schools in common. As jhall said, family and local school usually wins out.

You got the dirtiest programs in America fighting for this kid (only one missing is LSU).

Anything can happen.

The only thing I was saying is I don't think it's really a FSU/Miami battle here. I think he is a Miami guy bigtime right now and the one chance we have at losing him is if he decides to leave the state and go to Bama.

He will stay home though IMO.

Been tryin to tell you guys. This thing is far from over. Especially once the Tide bring their entire state down to SoBe next week. Fingers crossed. Lets hope his mom influences him enough to stay home and get an ejumication.

His moms has seen him play once. At Miami she can watch every game in person.

Im saying Cane.

Why has his mom only watched him once?

His mom is a Bus Driver I believe and she has 5 kids so she is working OT big time to handle her business. This is another reason I think he stays home, his brother is currently at FAMU an Thomas has gone up there several times to visit but I am sure in the long run that won't be do able for the Family. And his brother will graduate soon leaving him alone far away from his family, and I am sure that plays on him also. So if you have a chance to stay close to home but still feel like your away at school you take it. Not to mention Ice Harris has modeled his program after the structure he found at UM when he was on the staff, and familiarity goes along with creating stability for these kids so Thomas knows he can handle the rigors of UM life.

Go Canes!
