I hate acting like a mope, and no this is not a Golden sucks thread, but our RB depth has gotten exposed. There is simply no reason that should happen at this school.

I don't know who else they could have recruited besides the cheerleader (Folston?!), but I don't think it is unfair to blame the coaching staff on this point.

Thankfully they have Yearby and Powell coming in.

Maybe that South Fl talent should stay home and represent rather than take the bags of money?

We lose Clements and are bringing in Yearby, Powell, and maybe 1 more back.

Soon.

I'm more concerned about safety.

None of them are big backs. Aren't they both 5'9" tops ? Don't talk to me about Gus. He hasn't proven **** when he has gotten the ball.

Because our backup running back from fort lauderdale inexplicably decided to go live in fayetteville arkansas where his ancestors were slaves and play for a terrible team where he has to run into brick walls week in and week out and lose????

Really? A top 3 running back in CFB goes down and you bring in a stud like Dallas Crawford who runs like he's trying to put food on his family's plate.

And after him is serviceable third back in Clements who happened to be a nice get out of high school. Highly recruited kid out of dade, who for a while, many of us thought was a UGA lean.

Yeah the RB depth is not vintage Miami, but it's certainly not "unacceptable." I'd be more concerned with the defensive tackle depth and defensive coordinator depth.

Look I hate randy as much as anyone but he always did have a deep stable of backs, another concern is size though duke yearby, powell, and Crawford are all small, hopefully Gus can develop into something

Why you think we don't have enough with Rayshawn, Deon, and Jamal. I am sure we bring in at least 1 or maybe 2. But its funny how before we had a million safeties and no corners, now its the other way around.

Jenkins has developed nicely, a 100% Bush is a beast but he isn't 100% yet, and Carter is still a young pup.

I don't see any safety commits at this point so correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you think Mayes is a Corner, he looks like he might develop more as a safety, he doesn't have the hips Artie has, and maybe RLIII plays safety after his redshirt year.

We need a 200+ playmaker who can carry the load. Love Duke, love Yearby, love Powell, but when you play big time teams you need a big kid who can carry the load. It is insanity that SoFla will produce Collins, Michel, and Cook in back-to-back years and we might miss on all three with such a GIGANTIC need for their type of play.

I think Mayes is a corner right now but I could see Gunter getting moved since he's already taken reps back there.

No reason ???? Do you know how easy it must have been to recruit against Miami the last few years?
- Pending NCAA
- Not in the top 25
- Half empty Stadium every week

We might not like where we stand but saying no reason is carxy

We could have picked up another back or 2 in our last 2 recruiting classes. Plenty of Backs in south fla. Those kids from Colombus and that one from NW a couple years ago come to mind

But Kevin Grooms not qualifying does hurt

We need bigger backs too. Yearby and Powell are tiny

True. The sanctions of uncertainty killed us in recruiting many top level guys.

I'm a little more concerned with how our RB's are used than our depth at RB. I don't understand why Duke is/was being ran into the ground. He's not capable of running between the tackles consistently. I would have liked to see him get his 22-25 touches in the passing game, screens, some outside runs, a few times between the tackles and in the return game. I don't understand how we were so concerned with getting him hurt on returns and we continued to run him between the tackles and keep him in on pass protection where he had gotten hurt multiple times earlier in the season. We have our between the tackles RB in Crawford yet he only had 2 carries but had 3 catches. Coley is a great recruiter but so far his play calling has been questionable.
