5-0 heading into ND

GT games are never easy but we have that craptastic option figured out and have had it figured out for 3 years. I do not think we will regress this year. Granted I do not know if we will beat them as bad as we beat them last year but this isnt a game that concerns me the most.

I dont think the GT game will be as easy as people think. We're light at defensive end and green at linebacker. That's not a good combo against a Triple option offense.

And inexperienced, that's the key IMO.

The more guys you have on D that have already seen it, and can keep their disciplines, the better chance you have.

We were worse off last year, and put a boot in their ***.

Not saying it's going to be easy, but I would think playing BCC the week before gives us a little extra practice time to prepare.

A lot of their offense, believe it or not, depends on them having a deep threat receiver. When Thomas graduated they lost that, and haven't found someone like him since. Perryman will have some experience, as will Buchanon. Beating an option offense also requires your offense to score early. Those offenses thrive on leads.

It's possible.

We'll learn a lot in the BC game.

If it's a death struggle, we could be in for a long season.

Unfortunately I really think most of our games are going to be a death struggle. This year I think we pull out a few we lost in the past.

I don't see a lot of blow-outs on the schedule. Hopefully we win more close games this year. That's where the dedication and hard work in the off-season should pay off.

What I do like about our chances against ND is that we fall in the middle of a sandwich in their schedule (after Michigan game, before Stanford game). Classic let down set up.

I watch middle games and this is no average middle game, lol. They might be more up for Miami than they are either of the other two.

A chance to take a shot at Miami. I have no doubt they will be up for the game against us.

Ole DBC predicted we would go Undefeated soooo, so much for that.
This is a bridge year. I'm not even sure if DBC would predict that we'll be 5 - 0 heading in to the ND game.
lol. I should have known better. But to the people predicting we'll be 5-0 heading into the ND game, look what company you are in.

I definitely don't predict we will be 5-0 because we haven't shown any consistency. That said those games are all winnable.

The only thing we should be able to expect this season is inconsistency. Not because of lack of preparation and heart, like in the past, but because of lack of experience and depth. This is a team that can, and probably will, at some point this season lose to a team it has no business losing to, such as Duke or BC. It's also a team that likely will "shock" people when it beats a team it's not "supposed" to beat, like FSU or VT. My guess is a 7-5 season, but some of those losses and wins will be games that most weren't expecting to be a loss or win.

Exactly. Odds are we lose a game or two out of those. But I don't see any bama lsu or USC in those first 5.

There's a couple things here too that I want to point out:

1. Preseason rankings and ratings in college football are WOAT. They dont mean a ******* thing besides giving a leg up to teams for the final rankings.

2. Early in the season a well prepared team should fare better. We are young but I think we will be ready.

Solid road test right off the bat should shed some light.

Virtually no proven playmakers, limited experience at almost every position, razor thin depth at key positions, heavy reliance on underclassmen.......yeah, 5 - 0 for sure.

I'm sorry but I just don't understand while people think GT is really going to be beat us.... I hear your points about our defense but the starters on our defense do have experience.

Lets look @ the history of Miami versus Paul Johnson:

2008 Miami @ GT - 41-23 (L)

2009 Miami vs GT - 33-17 (W)

2010 Miami @ GT - 35-10 (W)

2011 Miami vs GT- 24-7 (W)

Conclusion:

- Paul Johnson has only beaten us his 1st year as the head coach at GT. After that Miami has BLOWN them out in every game we've played them.

- The thing about it Miami hasn't been a good team in all those years, but we still have blown them out the last 3 times we played them.

- GT has never had a defense that could shut down Miami, but we know how to shutdown the triple option.

- Like I said there is NO reason for me to have any concern for GT. Miami has a foot permanently on the necks of those bums.
