Kid is always open and had nearly 1,000 yards last year. I would say that's a breakout year.
Agree that he breaks out as a receiver this year, but he's not very productive as a returner.
Great speed, zero vision and zero lateral quickness.
He is good but Scott and Waters are better overall talents.
So basically, this is a thread of people bashing Dorsett because he ISN'T Santana Moss...
his route running is suspect... waters is the best route runner/hands guy on the team with coley coming in second..
Smh.
You think somebody gets as open as often as Dorsett without being a good route runner? Dorsett has his faults, but his route running is pretty sharp.

dude is the best route runner on the team. drops were his problem, not getting open.

I would say Hurns is the best route runner b/c for a guy that supposedly doesnt have elite speed he knows how to put a move on a corner quick, get open, and make the catch.
.... but with that said, our receivers are so good it's nit-picky even trying to say whos better then who at this point.
I think ppl are making too much of Dorsett when it comes to drop balls.... He did catch 58 passes last year, i bet the number of drops he had last year wasnt even in the double digits.
Drop balls happen, the best receivers in the NFL still drop balls.... and i already know he is going to have better hands then he did last year so i'm not worried about that.

in my case, it isnt necessarily the frequency of the drops, just the magnitude. he isnt dropping slant routes. just in the notre dame game he dropped 2 would be touchdown passes in the first half. its this concentration in which i think we will see a significant improvement.

Yeah, and he caught the game winning TD against NCSU. He had 180+ against GT. Other than the ND game, I can't remember many notable drops. I have no idea why people focus so much on that game when talking about Dorsett to put him down...Duke didn't do **** either but everybody excuses him.
Dorsett is a Mike Wallace type, but without the diva attitude. He can take the top off of a D like very few can. That is a very useful skill, and will open up things underneath. He also seemed to have some chemistry w/ Morris on broken plays. I don't understand all the hateration. It's not like he was a Sr last year, dang. Let the kid grow and improve.
