25-26 Transfers

The poster who wrote on and on about the importance of head coaching experience being different than assistant coaching is now upset that: said HS coach could not lure away Duke legacy recruits and that said HS coach isn’t abandoning his team in the postseason for an assistant coach position a week before his season ends.

Lucas left in the postseason. IMO, Moran and Lucas sitting together at the Miami Heat game seemed like a clear confirmation-signal to transfers, recruits, and the basketball world at large that Moran will be leaving Columbus to work with Lucas at UMiami.

Hilarious.

"Said HS coach"? I love how you try to twist my comments about Jai Lucas to fit Moran.

I'm not "upset". This has simply demonstrated my point, that if Super Recruiter couldn't flip some guys and sign some blue-chippers, then we were not getting the full benefit of his best talent.

Maybe he will succeed in the long run. But we are slow to start digging out of our hole.

It's not whether Moran will SOMEDAY join our staff. The more relevant issue is that NOBODY IS ON STAFF NOW to assist with recruiting, and this might just be contributing to the slow start in recruiting.

Unless, of course, the recruits are really impressed by "pictures at the Heat games" and "Chipotle Nationals" trophies.

This is not some secret hire, everyone knows Moran is joining the staff at UM

Nobody said it was a secret hire. However, Moran is not currently available to recruit. Nor is anyone else.

I am pointing out that the Jai Lucas slurpers were telling us that Miami's early hire was going to pay dividends, and that if we waited to hire a candidate with HEAD coaching experience, we were going to miss out in the Portal.

Looks like those claims were untrue.

I hope that Moran will someday pay dividends in HS recruiting. I hope that Pastrana will someday be announced as a hire and will join Lucas on the recruiting trail. I hope that someday we will have 15 scholarship players.

Certain porsters underestimate the size of the head coaching job and the inherent responsibilities.

And it doesn't help that we have a limp-**** Athletic Director right now.

Re: Louisville and Kelsey’s turnaround in Y1:

- 3 Charleston players — sophomore, sr, and redshirt senior — he already coached transferred in w/ him

- 11 out of 14 total transfers were seniors: 7 5th or 6th year seniors transferred in and 4 regular seniors

- 2 juniors transfers plus 1 freshman recruit

did you not read the rest of my statement? these should be the starters...then bench players.

We need more of everything. Including coaches. I'll reserve judgement on if Jai will be a good coach.

I read your statement, I just didn't fully agree with it.

First, the starting backcourt usually consists of two players (guards) and the starting backcourt usually consists of three players (center and forwards)...

Second, I also do not believe that we should rest at "one starting center and one starting forward".

Finally, I'm not sure that both of those guys are going to be the starters, and I hope we don't just pursue "bench players" beyond those 2 and that we try to sign someone even better than Udeh.
