It’s a problem,” said an SEC athletic director. “Villanova and St. John’s can pour $10 million into basketball if they want. The SEC isn’t going to be able to do that because we cannot sacrifice the cash cow of football.”

There are two Tulane players I would look at in the portal. One is Kaleb Banks. He's a 6-8 forward who went to Indiana before Tulane. This year he averaged 14.3 ppg and 6.5 rebounds. Only shot 34% from 3, but has a nice shot. The other is Kam Williams, another 6-8 forward. His numbers weren't as good, but he has a lot more upside. He was the #2 rated player in Louisiana in high school and as a true freshman this year he averaged 8.8 ppg and 4.1 rebounds. Also shot 41% from 3. He really came on strong at the end of the season, while Banks faded. I'd kick the tires on both, but definitely take a hard look at Williams. I think he is going to be really good.

I don't know if I was Vandy or one of the other bottom half of the SEC football schools I might say ***** it I'm never going to beat the UGA and Bamas of football let me pour my money into basketball.

Hilarious delusion if anyone believes SEC schools won’t be able to find enough money for basketball on top of football.

If anyone, I'd think UCONN would pull the plug on football, but they are still trying to find a way into a football conference.

Nobody wants them, despite being a blue blood hoops program.

Make you wonder...

Kam Williams, the one I wanted us to look at just committed to Kentucky

Sounds like total BS from the SEC. They have the money, they are just trying to justify someone outside of their bubble beating them at their own game.
